Just an update - I was in Deidesheim for a week at the end of October and Jens was the perfect host! He gave us a wonderful grand tour of the winery/shop and we had several meals together. He also got his friend who is a Michelin Star Chef to make a special menu and prepare a birthday lunch for my wife, which Jens and his girlfriend attended with us. He also made reservations at local restaurants for us and suggested lots of things to do. One was a visit to a place that makes healing and digestive vinegars.

We went to the museum in Kaiserslautern and saw his amazing exhibit there. Jens is such a good guy. I only play medium scalers so he had a customer/friend loan his back so I would have a Ritter to check out while I was there.

Didn't order anything, but we talked about something really special which won't be possible for him to even think about until late 2016 at the earliest. I have to say, we had a remarkable time and I love Jens - what an incredible craftsman and a super great guy:

Oh that looks awesome! I'd ideally want something with a quilted maple top and translucent finish (I want an oceanic-themed bass) it's just it would cost me about 5 months' worth of income and I'd be terrified of taking it on the road! But yeah maybe something like that could work!
