Wait...

Ebony ONE PIECE NECK THROUGH?:eek::eyebrow:

***, gotta cost a ton, and gotta neckdive like nothing else.

Please to everyone concerned do not entertain the thought of this bass being a Ritter. I assure you Jens made better basses when he first started out. I have seen enough Ritters to know. And if Jens emails me or my Friend and says it is i will gladly print a retraction.Until then...:spit:

...we all know that (we're just being polite!). However, I am still curious as to what that bass is!

I can understand (but no way condone) the 'Eastern' Jupiter rip-offs, but that one looks like someone has spent a fair bit of time making the bass.

My question is who/what/why?

Only the Raptor and the Jupiter require 'longer' strings than normal.

I've tried LaBella Slappers on mine but I'm back with Swordsteels as I like how they sound and feel.

I'd like to join this fabulous group! I picked up my Ritter 5 Classic last summer and it is definitely my favorite bass. The tone and the neck remind me so much of playing upright. #639

I had a surprising problem right after I got it (the truss rod nut shattered - I kid you not), but Jens is an awesome business man and we shipped the neck back and within a week it was fixed and back in my hands (with an extra set of strings no less).

I'm thinking of picking up another #644 (a Roya with a weird finish)

Nice bass - was that the one Glenn had at Bass Specialties?

Nice...!! :)

I've already loved that bass, Thunderitter - as you know, it was the first Ritter I ever saw, and it knocked me off my feet and started my personal obession with these wonderful basses. Don't know if I should love it or hate, eh...? :D

Nah, I'll stick with the love. It's such a beauty, and the best result with blocks I've seen in a Ritter.

BTW, the shipping date is finally set for February 9th for my Roya 5, so in a good month from now I'll be on a new honeymoon for quite a while :D

Was it used? If so the owner must have sold it to Guitar Center for even less. I can kind of understand though, mine is for sale and I'm not getting many hits. I'd never go to a Guitar Center though. Strange.

Jen's latest series of basses are now up on his web-site. There sure are some interesting finishes there! I love that copper Jupiter! Here's the link and some highlights: follow the link for more basses and more detailed shots.

USED: Can't see Jens doing a distribution/marketing deal with GC - but you never know! :D

I've bought a couple of 'expensive' slow movers from my local GC in the past that they sold me at their cost. So I suspect that might have been the case with this one.
