I just took delivery of a Roya 5 from the helpful guys at Bass People, Sydney. The top is curly flame redwood. The colour is Late Lounge. The tiger stripe effect is amazing. It was even more beautiful than I expected - sounds great too!

The service was A1 all the way.

With the current exchange rates the Roya 4 and Seal 5 they have must be the cheapest in the world!!

I'm sorely tempted by the Seal...

I hope you're enjoying your new Ritter...! Whether you like it or not, you have now been given the Ritter owners club member #19 - if you like, tell me the serial# of your bass and I'll add it to the list on page 8 :)

Cool! Ritter Club! Can I get in on this? I'll post pics when I can install the drivers for my Cam on another PC. In the meantime....I bought 0503 from Ben last year. He's a great guy. Info from the certification document.... It's a Roya 4 in Red Champagne, Gold Hardware, Maple neck, ebony fretboard, Bone nut, Piano - High Gloss neck finish, Transparent high gloss body finish. Weighs 9.9 lbs and was built on 8.07.2005

It'd be this one then:

Nice - I like the little light 'stripe' on the fretboard!

Wonderful ! Two new club members in one day...! :hyper:

Your bass is a real beauty, I love the combination of the black neck/fretboard and the red/purplish body. Is that a multi-laminate body like the yellow/blue ones Jens has made? I heard those are a bit on the heavy side, which I guess is confirmed by the 9.9 lbs youtell us here - my 5-string Platinum only weighs 7.2 lbs, but that's pretty extreme low weight :)

Until you get pics up here, we can live with those on Ritters homepage:

Ah cool! The Ritter Website has these pics. Waycool! Thanks for the # and the kind words. As much as I love this Roya, I'd love to order a Jupiter 6 in the near Future. We'll see... Take care - DM

I'm not that big a Ritter-nerd! But I'm enough of one to know that you can get pics of most of Jens' basses from 03xx on on his web-site!

How's your dog doing?

(got distracted and Basdyret beat me to that one!)

Ah my pup....he didn't make it. This is a really small world. I take it you know Marco? He's a great guy and I felt really bad about his Classic 5. It got lost and I wasn't sure if it would ever be found. I see that it was because Knarlybass has it now. My dog got hit by a car and the $ that would have bought his classic went to vet bills. All for naught, my dog died two months later due to complications.

Thanks for asking - Take care -

Dennis

Hello this is Johnny O'C AUSTRALIA YOU WANTED TO KNOW THE NUMBER.... it is 0648 Date of Birth 13/2/08 I AM HAPPY TO BE #19 TWO NEW MEMBERS IN ONE DAY WELCOME ABOARD, THERE'S PLENTY OF ROOM!!!:hyper:

Thanks - but how can your number be 648 if it's from 2008? My Platinum from 2006 has number 636, and Jens usually uses the year as the first digit, so with that logic yours could be 848...?

I always thought the serial was given to the bass when it was started, not when it was completed! My 0347 was finished in Jan 04 for example.

Could it be this bass was a while in finishing? Or maybe a '07 completion and then sitting around in between Germany and Oz, etc

Hmm... Interesting...! I must admit I've just followed the logic of the owners gallery on Ritter's homepage, where all serials in 2005 start with 05, etc etc, so I assumed that those were the years they were finished.

That, and then the fact that the last bass in the year 2006 on the page is number 647 ! :p

Well, it can't always be easy - I guess I'll know a little more about the logic in Jens' serials when I get my new Roya, it should be any day now...! :hyper:

HI GUYS THE NUMBER ON THE CERTIFICATION SHEET SIGNED BY JENS IS 0648, AND THE DATE IS 13/02/2008, THAT'S ALL I CAN TELL YOU, SO WE ARE JUST GOING To HAVE to LIVE WITH IT !!!
