About the distortion:

It's a push/pull knob system that can be be built into any bass (as long as there's enough space in the control cavity).
Scoop :D : the unofficial name is OPA-drive and it will be available in the Ritter store in september.
He built it together with someone else (I forgot the name).

So, I asked him where the name came from, because "opa" means "grandfather" in Dutch & German.
Jens said he was talking to someone who isn't a musician about the "Overdrive". The other person asked "What? The opa-drive?" :D

Anyway, I heard the distortion/overdrive and it sounds very very good!! But then, it's a Ritter product, so you can expect only the best. No idea what it will cost though...

Thanks for the info...! I am seriously starting to consider discussing my next bass with Jens, and a built-in OPA sounds great...! :D

Unfortunately I have to get rid of some bank loans and reserve enough money for the balance payment for the CT before I can send a deposit to Jens... hmm, maybe next year... :ninja:

The new website is very nice...! I'm glad to finally see some long-awaited updates, and the new features with Ritter TV, etc, are really cool. It's good to see that it will be more interactive and frequently updated from now on :)

The bad thing is just that I now want more Ritters... again... :D

One day I hope to be a member of this club. My Ritter dream bass is a Jupiter 6-String with Piano finish. If I could have a second Ritter bass, it would be a Raptor Fretless w/ Tremolo with Italian Marble finish.

In the Ritter-Royals category, I like the Zephyr Concept bass.

New Ritter Day: #0927 'The Blue Orange'. Interesting to see the changes to the design in 6 years, particularly the slimming of the waist - if only that had happened to me!

I hate to be one to start trouble, but...
I have been doing some traveling with my Ritter, I carry it on the plane with me, needless to say it goes through security. Sometimes I get to see it go through the x-ray machine and for the life of me I can only see two coils under those wooden Triple Bucker covers... Also the placement of the truss rod kinda surprised me...

Wow, you picked that one up...?? Congrats, it's a real looker ! I love what Jens has started to do with the powder coated hardware.

What is the electronics configuration? Different preamp?

That does sound odd - did you ask Jens about it? Maybe he could shed some light on what you're seeing, especially the reason for the location of the truss rod. Otherwise, for the pickup observation, you could remove your covers and take a look for yourself...?

It a Noll two band pre with vol/blend/bass and treble. While it's not as flexible as the master electronics set-up, it sounds like a Ritter and I like the simplicity; I suppose I'm a simple bloke!

Question is how does you're bass sound? I've got a Delano quad coil and it's got two stacked coils, so maybe that's what Jens is doing with his triples?

OK, I never tried removing the covers on my bass, but I guess it makes sense that they're epoxied on. I still think you should drop Jens a line with your observations, it would be interesting to hear what the reasons are for what you're seeing.
