I asked Jens about that and the coils are stacked. If you look at it from the top, you will only see 2 rows.I hate to be one to start trouble, but...
I have been doing some traveling with my Ritter, I carry it on the plane with me, needless to say it goes through security. Sometimes I get to see it go through the x-ray machine and for the life of me I can only see two coils under those wooden Triple Bucker covers... Also the placement of the truss rod kinda surprised me...
Nice!!!!Here are some 'nicer' shots of 0927:

Also, if an instrument has a low B, the truss rod isn't exactly in the middle.

That color combo is the bomb. Is that the fuzzy toy finish or whatever?
Not fuzzy but frosted.

^It doesn't seem like the tightest neck pocket on the B string side. It actually looks like the taper on the neck doesn't match the taper of the body and the gap widens towards the back of the bass.
Is that normal? Maybe it's just the angle but I see it in two seperate pictures.
Just the result of angles, lighting and a wide angle lens. I haven't had this neck off, but it's very similar in look to my other Ritter and it's neck fits beautifully, not to lose, not to tight. Then there's the matter of the 9 neck screws......
If you have a Ritter or have had the chance to look at one close hand you'll know just how good the fit and finish is.

I have never owned or played a Ritter. I would expect them to be relatively close to perfect that's why I asked the question without assuming it is a real issue and not just the shots.
In any case it "looks" like a fairly large space in the pictures especially the one of the upper horn.
I am not criticizing, it looks like a beautiful instrument.
Edit: Isn't it 10 neck screws?
You owe me clips!
