These videos are over a year old, but I thought I'd share them anyway.

Das Mond-Eiche Projekt Teil 1 - YouTube
Das Mond-Eiche Projekt Teil 2 - YouTube

This was made for a Invalid Link Removed. If I'm not mistaken, Jens made a bass of the same wood used for the wine barrels.
Invalid Link Removed made the music. The bass you hear is a (the??) Ritter bass. There are some fragments of Jens making the bass.

Very cool. But to me it still looks very much like it also has vertical flames, and with the horisontal lines it gets an almost tartan look (like a Scottish kilt), albeit more wavy :)
See if you can get Jens to accentuate that with a paintbrush pen :p

I still didn't manage to pull any pics of my new bass out of Jens... and after trying for months to have him tell me a date I could come visit the workshop, I booked a ticket myself and told him the date I would come - and then he replied immediately and said he would be in Switzerland that day :hmm:
Man, I'd wish he would hire a secretary... without adding costs to the basses... :ninja:

Jens told me the horizontal lines would dominate. Too be honest, the look isn't that important too me (although a tartan look isn't really what I want :D ).
I want the playability of a Ritter Bass and a certain sound which Jens said I would get with that combination of wood & electronics.

I understand the frustration... I have to work with Jens :)
He is reorganizing his business to be more efficient, but it's a work in progress.
If he had the budget for an extra employee... oh the changes I would make! :D

Aaaah, I thought that was your Cora. Beautiful specimen ! :)

I wonder if my Okon will ever have its picture taken... :hmm:

What year was it made?

I just looked at the 2011 basses and there's quite a few yet to be posted - assuming he intends to post them all, which may be a big 'ask'.

Very rough approximation is that Jens completed 90-100 basses last year & there's only about half that number up on the site.

Mine's #1113. Has been finished for a while, but it's had a few delays with the final touches - like the buillt-in OPA drive.

Let's see when he wants the balance payment for it... he's currently - again - not replying to e-mails :) I really wanted to visit his shop in June and pick up the bass, but it's going to be difficult, as he's not in the country when I am.

I think he's on vacation this week - back on April 25th.

All of the latest batch of pictures are completed & sold (either to individuals or dealers) I think.

Certainly there's two 2011 basses that appeared last week that I know have been sold, mine and another that went through the same UK dealer.

@Molan & @Corey
Nice basses!!!

Jens is in the US and like Molan mentioned, he'll be back around April 25th.

There are 75 instruments in the site's database from the year 2011. Some are hidden because Jens still needs to add the details and/or pictures. All the rest can be found on the history, available or "in progress" page.

@Basdyret: When Jens gets back I'll ask him to send pictures as soon as possible!

Some other interesting stats:
Most build bass: Roya (48%)
Most productive year: 2011
Strings: 54% are 5-string basses

(this data is not 100% correct as it is based only on the instruments entered in the site's database)

Very cool, Frizzle :)

And a seriously good looking Cora, Coreybox...! Congrats :hyper:

Any news from Jens? I'm considering sending a new e-mail, but judging from experience he will just reply to that one instead of the original... I had a few important questions for him.

And I'm seriously dying to see some pics of my bass soon... :p

BTW, interesting - but not surprising - fact that Jens makes more 5-string basses than all other types added together.

Hello and a big bow to all around here.

My name is Tom, I´m a newbie on TB and like to indroduce myself to the Ritter owners club, because I´m a owner of three Ritters. Man, I love this basses. :-)

I´m located in germany just an hour by car to Jens workshop. A short impression on who I am, you can find on my HP.

Unfortunatly I´ve to sell one of my Ritter´s. You can find it on TB, too.

Tom

P.S. Sorry for my basic english, I´ll do my very best. :-)

Herzlich willkommen, Tom (any chance to practise my primary school German, eh?) :)

You are in the club as #45, will add you to the list in a minute.

Your bass collection is impressive, but what I also note is that you own a Merlin 600 like I do - not something you see every day. Did you ever own the Triebwerk cabs, or just the amp? I tried for a long time after Ed and Hardy stopped making them to have a Triebwerk III made, but in the end they couldn't figure out how to handle the VAT when selling to Denmark, and stopped replying to may e-mails. So I'll survive with just the Triebwerk I+II :p
