Yeah, Straw. Haven't been down to say hi in a couple years though.

Will: I wonder if we've met. Well, OP, Port Aransas is amazing and chock full of great food and live music. I had restaurants/bar there for many years as well as played in several bands. If you decide on a run to the coast, I can offer you intro's to most anyplace in town.
take an umbrella...
No kidding. My wife was a victim of a bat bombing last time we went to see them. Ewwwww.

Looks like it's going to be 100+ degrees every day while I'm there.![]()

I'd suggest complaining about it to the locals. We love it!![]()

Hi guys! Hope the OP finds my question OK, but I think it is complementary!
I'm also traveling to Austin for the second weekend of the Austin City Limits Fest, and I am doing some research,,
While I am there, I would love to go to the best guitar shop in town,,, I'm looking for a couple of bass pedals myself, and maybe the best record store (Jazz .. rock LPs)
Any suggestions would be very welcomed! Thanks!![]()
To be honest all the shops here suck. Austin Vintage has the most fun stuff to look at. No place in town will have good bass pedals, except maybe the used cabinet in Guitar Center.
Unfortunately this is surprisingly true.
Have any of you guys been to the "Austin Bazaar" music shop? Seems like it might be cool for new stuff, but I haven't gotten out there yet.
In all fairness though, South Austin Music is the store I got the best vibe from, (no rock star attitude from the employees) and they had the best used section I've seen in town.
