+1, a good one though. look at the orange-ish light on the edge of his string fingers (not fret fingers), should appear on the bridge/hardware somewhat.Color tone looks a little "too" good on the ric. If you took the pic yourself MM, I believe you if you say it's not shopped.

I looked at each channel of the image... There's noise/grain in the body of the bass itself in each color channel that doesn't match or jive with anything else in the photo.

It's photoshopped.

I see what you are talking about, but his fretting hand was what gave it away for me. It just doesn't look right.

I call BS on this. Its such a low res image, I think you're just seeing what you want to see. Also, theres no surface in the photo at all comparible to the flat painted bass, so you cant really make that assumption that it doesn't fit.

The perspective, size, shadowing and texture blending are pretty spot on, which would argue its legit. It seems like the lights hitting it juuuuust right so that its reflecting evenly along the fretboard and body, which can be a lucky coincidence or could be fake.

I can't see any motivation to Photoshop this, Rickenbacker doesn't need the extra publicity, Rob doesn't need his sponsors getting pissed, and why would any individual care enough?

I say it could be shopped, but since it really doesn't matter, I'd say its legit.
