Robert Trujillo rockin in style !

I call BS on this. Its such a low res image, I think you're just seeing what you want to see. Also, theres no surface in the photo at all comparible to the flat painted bass, so you cant really make that assumption that it doesn't fit.

The perspective, size, shadowing and texture blending are pretty spot on, which would argue its legit. It seems like the lights hitting it juuuuust right so that its reflecting evenly along the fretboard and body, which can be a lucky coincidence or could be fake.

I can't see any motivation to Photoshop this, Rickenbacker doesn't need the extra publicity, Rob doesn't need his sponsors getting pissed, and why would any individual care enough?

I say it could be shopped, but since it really doesn't matter, I'd say its legit.

Any turd in the world with decent photoshop skills and internet access could have done this on their lunch hour. There doesn't necessarily need to be a reason to photoshop it.

Just do a google image search and you will find that there are a million people out there with nothing better to do.

Not that it matters..

but... ;)

Any photographer (pro or amateur) immediatly sees that is obviously photoshopped.

Compare the lighting on Rob's forearm with the lighting on the bridge pickup.
Compare the shadow of the knobs on the bass with the shadow of the pants on his leg.

off course not that it matters.

I'm sorry Major Metal, but I don't believe it. (yet)

I remain skeptical until I see other pictures, even a vid of that gig popping up on YouTube.

It looks photoshopped to me.
Lighting angles are different on Rob and Rick. (:D)
Also, it looks like the bass should be turned some degrees to the right to make it believable that he is playing it.
I assume he is playing something on the D and G string.

Any reliable sources on the pic?

The original post of the pic, is that made by Metallica or someone who works for Metallica?

But as always, I could be wrong. :)

Not that I care if he does or does not play a Rick. Great bassist, great bass.

I'm saying not photoshopped. Mostly because of MM's reputation. But anyone whose ever taken pictures at gigs, or had pictures taken of themsleves at gigs knows that stage lights of many colors and varities do crazy things to pictures.

I'm not at all surprised to see that a glossy green/white/chrome bass "pops" under stage lights when the rest of the photo is a very tanned RT wearing dark clothes on a dark colored stage. Not to mention we are all viewing it on a computer monitor.

But hey, it's the internet, and everyone's an expert....

You are wrong. I logged on and checked out all the photos. They look like official concert photos. It's wise to have proof before making a negative doubtful statement. This happens all the time on TB.

He is not lying, you people are just being close minded...

It's also wise to have proof that I am wrong. ;) Which hasn't been given yet. ;)
