Please come home for Christmas, Eagles version.
Not rock, but funny.
I really enjoyed doing this one last year.
Killing in the Name Of
I am Santa Claus
Leave him cookies and beer, he'll be to your house first next year
Played Jingle Bells, the Brian Setzer Orchestra version, last year for a holidays festival type thing. We had a full 5 piece horn section, and that was the most awesome 2:30 of my Christmas season.
No one has mentioned Los Straitjackets:
That would be cool!
Considering that much of Christmas music is of the Little Drummer Boy, Deck the Halls, White Christmas variety, I'd say that most of the pop offerings in this thread are much more rocking - even if it's the Waitresses.
Now is it a Rock song? maybe not.
But does the song rock? Absolutely.
I guess it's a matter of semantics.
Cannot believe this has not shown up:
My band is almost finished recording a version of this which will very likely get some airplay on Sirius XM.
My two faves...
Half Lizzy, half Pistols, what’s not to love?
Thea Gilmore... the single best song about Christmas ever!
PS love Chris Squier’s Run With The Fox too!
We do "Santa Claus is coming to town", "Run, run Rudolph" and "Merry Christmas baby" every year. Our singer always wants to try something different. Last year we did "Last Christmas" by "Wham". Not a rocker, but we rocked it up anyway and it filled the dance floor at every December gig.
I remember a band in NJ doing a great version of that in bars in the early ‘80’s!
There's always this old favorite:
Two more rock Christmas songs. Sounds weird to say.
Happy Christmas (War Is Over) - The Alarm
Sleigh Ride - Los Straightjackets
Wow, five pages and no mention of this classic?
Hate that song with a fiery burning passion. Hate hate hate hate hate it.
