ROCK N ROLL HallOfFame=joke

Why is it that between 1969 and 1974, nobody sold more concert tickets or more albums than Three Dog Night. Nobody. But are they in the HOF.....nope. I wish they could put their personal issues aside and regroup for a tour or at least a HOF appearance(while they still can). Cream, Fleetwood Mac, even "all" the Eagles did it and survived.

Well, 4 of the original 7 members of Three Dog Night (Cory Wells, Danny Hutton, Jimmy Greenspoon, & Michael Allsup) are still together and touring. Joe Schermie is dead, Chuck Negron does a solo act, and Floyd Sneed has his own band. Maybe someday they will reunite.

I used to be pissed that Rush wasn't in there, but then they finally got accepted.

Then, suddenly I was pissed that Rush was going to be in there and the RRHOF is such a joke. NO! they were too good for that. I thought!

I was confused, stressed I didn't know what to think about the whole thing anymore.

Then Alex Lifeson gave his acceptance speech and suddenly like a ray of light piecing the fog of my existence, the clouds parted and everything was right with the world. From then on I knew. Everything was going to be OK.

That's awesome, I guess the next best thing to not going like that sex pistols letter "were not coming" we're not your monkys and such" ...that was funny-

I was there. I met some high school buddies in LA for a weekend, highlighted by seeing our favorite band finally get inducted.

I have to say that Lifeson's "speech" made me a little uncomfortable. It was funny for a minute or two, but eventually the joke wore thin and it just started to feel disrespectful. I can't believe I'm saying that, because I thought it was as bogus as anyone that they hadn't gotten in earlier.

But I guess I was BU2B that when someone is doing something nice for you (albeit late), you don't piss in their face.

Heart rocked, by the way. Flava Flav was just annoying. Randy Newman was a hoot. Quincy Jones talked _forever_. John Mayer did a nice job for Albert King, but half the audience still thinks he's a butthead.

As a native Clevelander, I'll sum up the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in two words:

Neil Diamond.

He gets in, along with Abba, Public Enemy, and any number of dubious acts that masquerade as "rock and roll." Bands like ELP, Yes, Deep Purple et. al. do not. Speaks volumes about the place if you as me. Might as well call it the Pop/Anything Else We Feel Like Voting In Hall of Fame.

I've been there, BTW. Big disappointment. I don't need to see Michael Jackson's stage outfits, or a car driven/owned by Elvis. Or for that matter, a huge mixing board. Oh, and let people take pictures inside the exhibit area, will you?

I think that was the point. They were disrespected-

Does anyone know how on earth LL Cool J qualifies? Haha? It's just maddening- like anyone have a real answer?

Like it or not Radio was a monumental record for rap/hip hop. The RRHoF was never about rock and roll, it was about pop music.

I personally loved Radio, that is some awesome old school rap.

I don't think it should be there either, but I don't care.

I do know though they used to let you in for free if you told them you were on tour and you gave them some merch/cd's.

It's simple: Rolling Stone magazine and in particular it's founder Jann Wenner has to like you to get in.
RSM has never been to fond of prog bands such as Yes, ELP, King Crimson. Try to find a Rush, Deep Purple or Journey RSM cover during their best years... good luck!

Not likely. I read that one of the four that are still together(don't know which one or why), refuses to let Chuck return.
