It was a party. Would you want to play a spotless, high cost special edition Warwick, or any Spector for that matter, at a party? I know I'd go for the Rockbass in that situation. Not like a drunk is gonna care if you've got Warwick on the headstock or your tone has the distinctive Warwick growl or not.

I just bought an SWR Workingman's stack. 4004 head, 410 cab, and 1x15 cab. It sounds great with my Jazz bass, and I plan on putting a set of white EMGs in there. My friend brought over his Warwick Thumb 5 and I nearly cried. This thing barks.Govithoy said:What amp did you buy? Your profile says your only amp is a Rogue 120 watt combo.
Suck it up, keep your cash. Your jazz is a nice bass, and instead of spending $500 on a Rockbass now, you're $500 closer to getting a Streamer.

Other good bass brands to consider in the $500- $600 range:
Godin, Peavey, Spector's Performer line, Schecter's C-series line, Yamaha, Ibanez SRX, G&L Tribute, I'm sure I'm forgetting something.
I'm sure RockBasses are decent basses, but too many TBers have talked about theirs falling apart to ignore, so I ASSUME that build quality is spotty. If you do happen to find a RockBass that's the cat's meow, then great. But I think the last thing anyone wants is a person to plunk down their hard-earned money on a bass that maybe isn't all it's cracked up to be.
Definitely try out a bunch of basses from various brands.
