Roscoe Beck Forum?

1.5" nut indeed, and far from clubby, quite slim for a 4 string, funnily enough, I've only ever played fretless J's(which will feel slimmer than standard J's due to the lack of frets) or one with P necks, so I can't exactly say how they compare to 70s J's, or even modern ones, but I'd imagine it's pretty standard Jazz shape. Mine is a slick player, very, very comfortable. Never had any truss rod or intonation troubles. And somehow mine came stock with super low action, no buzz anywhere. I've tapewounds on it now, too, mighty sound with them.

Well, lookee here!

...better photos to come.

It's a 2008 model... bought as used, but virtually untouched. Plastic on the pickguard, gadget bag still sealed. Medium weight, resonant... I've just rehearsed with it and it's incredible!

I was doing some research on the RB V and ran across this thread.
I am going to read the whole thing, but haven't yet.

This may have already been addressed here, but to cut to the chase, did all the various years of RB-V have the same neck profile or were there differences?

The neck profile is one of the more unique features of the RB 5. It's an asymetric shape that's unlike what you're going to get from other Fender 5 strings. Plus the fingerboard is Pau Ferro, unlike the rosewood on other Fender 5's.

I have to admit though, I'm having a tough time with my CAR RB5 recently. I messed up my left shoulder, and the weight of this bass is aggravating it a little. Last night I wound up playing my Precision 5 string since it's a little bit lighter than the RB5.
