I prefer that position too, but I have just learned to pull it out, as a trained reflex. Strap on, plug in, pull the midrange. I don't have a definitive answer to your question, but my guess is it's not as easy as that. I'd expect the circuit to have one default EQ setting when the switch is open, and another when it's closed. You -may- be able to find a coaxial switch that's whatever yours isn't (NC vs NO) but finding that in combination with the right pot resistance and other mechanical specs (threaded shaft diameter and length, for instance) may be a challenge. I spent weeks trying to find the right replacement pot for my SKB's volume and yes, I tried Roscoe first....

I hope I'm wrong and it's as easy as someone knowing the right part number.

That position is also my favorite, never thought about inverting it. I'm not sure it's worth it.

I believe if you move the brown wire from where it is to the opposite end (same side of switch) it will reverse the function.
I may be wrong and over simplifying it but it's worth a try .......

I’m really thinking about installing the Nordy preamp that I have into my 2005 Buckeye Burl LG Custom, which has the wedge neck and recently spent the day in Keith’s Bass Spa.
The Nordy sounds great currently in the Koa LG Custom, but I’m having to make some changes and I believe the Nordy would be best served in the B/B.

Can’t go wrong with that IMO. Especially if the changes you’re talking about includes eliminating one of your Roscoes.
The Nord preamp paired with the Roscoe Barts can do it all!

Right! I am going to part with the Koa LG Custom and keep the Buckeye, which Nightwoman likes best and I like it too. :thumbsup:

I’m installing some Fodera nickel strings on my LG this weekend.
They sound and feel really so good on my Fodera that I just had to try a set on my Roscoe. They claim to be one of the only (if not only) nickel strings where both the outer and inner core are nickel clad. I certainly hear a difference so I’ll see if it’s the bass or the strings.:)

I am getting terrible electronics noise / buzz from my SKB 5 string Roscoe. I recorded a quick clip so you can hear it.



I also own and play a Sadowsky metro and an Ibanez 6 string through the same system (Audient Interface) that are dead quiet so I know is not my studio or any grounding issues etc.... any help?

Are you on the Roscoeheads FB page? Roscoe SKB 5s used to go up for sale all the time here, but it's been strangely quiet lately. Still see them for sale on the Facebook page tho.

It could just be a grounding issue.

If you’ve installed fresh batteries and it’s still doing it Use a VOM and verify that all pots and the strings are properly grounded (together). If they are it’s either a bad pot or the preamp module needs to be replaced.
