Roscoe Club

Have been fortunate to enjoy the Yellowjackets and Jimmy Haslip for a while. Have seen them live several times. Started listening to them on vinyl, but transitioned to CDs.

I started with SKB Roscoe’s but always loved the LGs. Then recently I’ve been digging the Century’s body style and shape. Over the years I’ve had several of each and liked them all. But recently gigging and rehearsing my LG’s I can say that I really do bond with that body style. As much as I love the look I also love the ease of playability. :)

After all these years the LG is my favorite too Scott. There was a period where I really loved the SKB body but in the end I came back to my first love!

I am growing more and more in love with my 34” LG 5. I didn’t think I was gonna dig it but it surpassed my expectations and it’s even tuned to Eb.
Yea man I used to think I loved my SKB more but my LG Custom 34s 3006 and LG Custom 35 scale 3005 is all I play now. I wear the bass a little high so the smaller body style fits perfect. It's just so comfortable. And it looks bad ass with the slanted barts.

I too wear my bass like a necklace lol. Somewhat lower now than when I was younger but I now have a coffee table above my belt to lay it on top of lol.

OK so this old 6 is up on GC used. What do yall make of the "what looks like a shim" at the heel joint? Also, would you say this is Myrtle on Myrtle? Probably weighs a ton?
Definitely a shim, easily reversible....now that gold hardware is something to be really worried about.

The best Roscoe that I owned years ago had an all myrtle (one piece) body.

Looks like myrtle burl/myrtle burl to me.
Definitely a shim installed. Looks like a full length Stew-Mac or something similar. Nothing that a standard Hipshot Type A bridge wouldn’t fix (less expensive than a Plek and more “guaranteed” low action IMO).
Plus purchasing an all black brige will fix the ugly black/gold bridge!:D
