This bass has intrigued me for a while. I liked my Lakland that had a J/MM set up. This would be a nice combo to go with my passive P4 and soap bar Century 5.

I think that’s an old Roscoe dealer who still has a few instruments left.
I don’t think that’ll be QUITE like a Lakland, as the pickups are in a different spot, and I don’t think it has the splittable mm pickup, but I’m not here to talk you out of buying anything

Edit: maybe they are in the same spot (or closer than I thought)- looking at them side by side, the Lakland is only 22 frets vs the Roscoe’s 24, and has the bigger oval bridge… hmmm… Steve will just have to buy it and find out for us
. I still think the bridge pickup is farther from the bridge/closer to the neck pickup, maybe in the StingRay sweet spot (one complaint about the Laklands is they don’t do a convincing StingRay, which I do agree with).

I would like to have a Standard Plus Century with that pickup configuration. I’m sure it would be my main player.

The good stuff ain't cheap... that's a signature with about every option, I'd bet. Don't get me wrong, that's a lot of $$$, but compared to MTD, Fodera or other high end builders, that's not bad...$6k+!

That bass has a lot in common with the build in have in progress. The all-wenge neck, Koa top, Aguilar pickups... I'm excited to (eventually) see what that neck feels like. The open texture of wenge is pretty cool under the hands.

Im in a conundrum and would like to know our collective opinion on Ash vs Mahogany?
The pictured bass is a Signature (from the Gard era), before knob insets and matching rear headstock overlays.
