From the Reverb listing: "This bass, serial #2225, is 1 of 11 6-string basses made by builder Keith Roscoe."

I think the seller might mean 1 of 11 neck-through 6-string basses. Messaged the seller with that distinction. Otherwise, interesting body and neck construction / joinery, as well as dual truss rods.

When it comes to Roscoe basses, I prefer bolt-on necks and single truss rods. However, bass #2225 is a very pretty bass. I like the older scarf-joint neck construction, too, although no more than the equally effective descendant designs.

The seller is in SC. Would love to go there and play that bass (with main benefit likely being escape from the roller coaster temperatures, months-long freeze-thaw-freeze-etc-etc cycles, and predominately gray MI weather; Ugh, is it really spring?)

PS I also really like the shorter lower bouts of early SKBs

Thanks for the trade, Scott! I'll say here what I told you: trading away all of my gray Roscoe bags simply means I can never sell any of my remaining Roscoes!

Good point, that was slightly misleading. The bass pic was to display the ones I "can't sell" because I no longer have the OEM bags for them! Technically, between Scott and myself, it was "bass last week, cases this week"!

I am zeroed out of gray bags now. I have 2 original Roscoe hard cases and 5 Mono cases (one of which is a double) to move these around in, and I'm perfectly happy with that!

And let me add to the gig bag issue by saying I think I’ve found a new supplier of great quality Codura (sp) gig bags. Messina Covers, we’ll known for upright covers also makes outstanding electric bass gig bags.

That curly maple body appears to be solid. The original IG and FB posts show the back, and even the routed electronics cavity looks like it's all maple. I'm personally not one of those guys who insists on a light-weight bass -- but I do wonder just how heavy a solid maple SKB would turn out to be.

The Carvin 5 I played back in the early 90s was solid maple, and it was a heavy beast. I didn't realize until years later because it was all I had.

I bet the all curly maple weighs over 10 lbs. I had a few all maple Pedulla thunderbasses made from all maple but they had the smaller body which offset the weight a bit. I bet it would sound great especially with an ebony board. (Pedulla recipe). Just wonder about the weight.

Yeats ago I owned a Roscoe LG2005 and ever since letting it go (financial hardship) have regretted it. So now I had the opportunity to become one with the brethren I took the plunge. I'll be challenged by that extra string but am super psyched about this! I will have to put my lowly Carvin away but there might be a time to pull it out again. Maybe. In the mean time, I'll be smiling a lot.

I was reeeeeeaaaaally tempted by that bass, but I had just picked up the fretless Roscoe SKB6 that was in the TB classifieds, and two in one week seemed like a bit much.

Hope it found a good home!

And they make rifle bags, just make sure you don’t grab the wrong one

When I started playing, one of my first teachers had a steinberger and the matching bag, and he was stopped a few times by the police while carrying it.
