My understanding is that these are “ebay brokers” in Japan, you pay them and they will get the bass from a shop in Japan for you. Always amusing to see these.

It all depends on what you need/want. My #1 bag is a Mono Vertigo with the Tick attachment. It fits either my Roscoe Century 5 or 6 just fine. But I’m just trying to carry my bass, strap, clip-on tuner, cables and an iPad/laptop. And have drop/bump protection. And I drive, not taking public transportation/cab/uber. If you’re trying to carry a class d amp, you’ll need a bigger front pocket.

I just got an Access Stage 5 bag on black friday, it’s pretty similar to a sadowsky portabag (which is also a great bag), but it’s heavier than the Mono. I haven't used it yet (my Vertigo/tick has all my stuff preloaded, except the bass and strap).

I’ve used a Pro Tec bag that I got at the late, lamented, Bass NW, for a dozen or so years and it’s held up well. It’s probably not as heavy duty as the Mono, but it’s served me well, and the price is right. It’s basically an older version of this one: Bass Guitar Gig Bag - Gold Series

A tale of 2 TKLs, both basses 35" scale, 1 headed, 1 headless. Roscoe standard issue

The TKLs balance good protection and light weight. Nothing like the bags that feel almost as heavy as a case. My other bags, listed in order of satisfaction, have been Gator, Access, Protec, Rockbag, and standard gray Roscoe. The TKLs are my favorite.

As a matter of fact, Ray, I do have some shots to share. :thumbsup: Maybe it wouldn't win any beauty contests, but I think it's an attractive look. And I'm still diggin' the tone of the TI strings and Diamondwood fingerboard.

I have Roscoe bags and a Protec that I've had and love for a while. I'm debating new bags these days. The Protec has been my fav for years, and it's starting to show it. The basic Roscoe bag is ok. Just a little bulky maybe. The TKL looks nice. I'm kind of waiting now to see if I get down to 2 basses or not. Maybe a double makes more sense at that point as they'd both go to shows, except church. I only use one there. IDK. I do like the "top load" bags that you don't need to lay down. Kind of leaves Mono for that.

I’ll third, forth or fifth (lost count) the Mono M80. I’ve had one for 10 years and while I take really good care of my gear it still works and looks like new. Very durable and stiff bag!
I also have a new Roscoe supplied TKL bag and it also seems to be a great bag.
Can’t go wrong with either one!

They aren’t bad at all. I have debated using the 2 I have (like new as I rarely take them out of the house) instead of spending hundreds on new bags

I'll be the dissenting voice re: Mono. They have a lifetime warranty, cool. That warranty does NOT cover zippers. Without zippers, you don't have a gig bag. Yes, I know all of this from experience.

I do, however, have a Levy's Leather bag that's 25+ years old, been around the world 3 times, and still looks brand new. It was very expensive, but it's paid for itself many times.

To add a little re: Mono - I have one of the dual bags and it served me very well for about 10 years, but the fabric came apart toward the bottom corner in the area of a seam. Contacted them and sent pictures. No warranty, was told it was "normal wear and tear" with advice to take it to a seamstress or luggage repair shop. I got the bag fixed for about $65, but was disappointed in their response. I switched to a Gator Go-Pro dual and like it quite a bit. It has much more storage than the Mono did, but we'll see how it holds up. Gator replaced a rack case I had from them that was about 9 years old when the handle broke. Very easy process that I was quite impressed with.

Recently I was in the market for a double gig bag, so I put out a question on a FB bass player forum asking for recommendations. 90% of people said go with Mono, but one guy mentioned Reunion Blues, which I'd never heard of. A quick search found a YouTube review where the guy compared Reunion Blues vs Mono double bags, and he came out in favor of the RB bag. I price checked both and found that the RB was about $130 cheaper. While I'm always leery of going with the "cheap" option on things, I did order the Reunion Blues double bag, and I've been quite satisfied with it after using it a half dozen times.

Just another option to consider.
