Right. That's why I said Century 5 specifically. The Classics also tend to be heavier than I like.I know that you prefer the feel of the Roscoe STD/Custom neck but don't expect the Roscoe Classic 5 neck to feel like your current 5 string neck because it doesn't. Totally different. The Roscoe Classic 5 neck feels HUGE (as does the Classic Jazz body).
If you want a 5 string JJ that has a neck like your STD Roscoe you'll need to get a Roscoe STD/Custom JJ.
I took the Classic P and the Sadowsky 5JJ to rehearsal last night. Used the P for "Don't Stop Me Now" and the 5JJ for "Let's Go Crazy" and each was great. Roscoe Classic P with TI flats nailed the Queen. I've only seen Prince bass players with jazz basses and the Sadowsky really nailed it, and I'm getting used to the neck, and it's kind of nice that both my P and J have the same spacing and scale length - 19mm and 34". My cover band basses may have been solidified last night.
