Roscoe Club

I put my favorite bridge on this classic. The KTS Ti. Shes under8 lbs, featherweight! Fresh LTF’s and got a new Aggie grape. Think “ for the love of money “ oh man is this wonderful sounding.

You had me at free oysters! Nice looking bass, too!

LOL I agree. And thanks. That bass has so much of what I like. Ash body, Wenge board and the BEM top is just sexy. But I gotta say I didn’t think I was a fan of Aguilar electronics but I love this PJ setup with the boost only pre. It sounds great with little to know changes in settings and I can make slight changes to get a variety of usable tones.

I have a parts PJ that has passive Aguilar pickups - they sound delicious with flat wounds and a little of the tone rolled off!

Does anyone have experience with or thoughts on how a maple neck, pau ferro FB, mahogany body, and Roscoe Barts would sound? Looking for a fat but articulate fingerstyle tone with a bit of growl when you dig in.
"Fat but articulate" is how I describe myself :D

Add some wenge in the neck and that should get you a phat growly tone. Fingerboard alone on a Roscoe probably won’t get you there. The fingerboard is too thin. Need at least a wenge stringer (or even better a wenge wedge neck).

for the stuff (not a bass yet) I've received from overseas, if there is additional duty owed, i get a bill from the carrier eventually...
Any idea how the duty is calculated? You'd think it would be a percentage, like a sales tax --but I haven't been able to find out the details.

I'm leery of buying something I think is a pretty good deal, and then getting hit for, say, 25% more in duties...
