Have any of you guys ever bought a bass internationally and dealt with the customs fees? I've done a couple Google searches and can't seem to find a clear explanation of how it is calculated. I keep seeing interesting Reverb deals but dismissing them because they're from Japan or wherever,.and I just don't know how that works.

I've gotten 2 used Roscoes from Canada, both off of Reverb:
Bass #1 in 2016 - shipping agent was UPS, 5 string fretted ash/koa/maple, duty/fee was between $100-200 to UPS upon delivery.
Bass #2 in 2020 - shipping agent was USPS, 5 string fretless ash/maple, duty/fee was $0.
I have no idea how these were calculated. The first person told me to expect about $100 fee, the second person told me to expect no extra fees...they apparently knew something about it!![]()
Ok guys my Roscoe-itis is at a fevered pitch. This is not the time for Roscoe peeps to go silent on me. I need Roscoe banter and pics ect lol.
Are we going to have to begin a recovery group?

What a treat it was to walk through the shop and spend a little bit of time talking to the man himself! Going to have to order another one just to have an excuse to visit again.
