Here's that Century Signature 3006 I was talking about buying internationally. It arrived safely, and DHL did not ask for any Customs fees, so unless I get a bill in the mail eventually, seems like I may have read the documentation correctly about there being no customs fees between Colombia and the US.

The only negative on this deal is that the guy cleverly selected his pics to hide the 12th fret inlay of the original buyer's initials. Honestly, that's a bit of a bummer, but it's a nice enough instrument overall that I don't care too much.

The seller did not know much about the woods, but I think I've got most of it figured out... Let me know your thoughts on the neck woods.

Top: seems to be Walnut burl.
Body: Swamp Ash, and surprisingly light.
Fretboard: Ebony
Neck: Signature wedge. But what are the woods? I know Keith did some with cherry stringers in that era, so I think that's what the "skinny bits" are. But the center is a puzzle. It's definitely more brown and less purple that any examples of purpleheart I have here to compare. Still might be a more brownish purpleheart though. Pretty sure it is not cocobolo. I have an example of that and it's much darker.
Pickups and preamp: Aguilar

Had a little bit of backbow when it arrived, but I've been making patient, conservative adjustments over the last few days, and I think I've got it set up how Iike now. It's a very good example of a Roscoe 6, and I'm glad I picked it up, despite the oddness of having some unknown guy's initials on the fretboard...

That is shady- looking at his pictures, I see what you mean. I recall a member of this group complaining about someone asking for full body pictures, this is why :D

And I'd bet the center neck laminate is purpleheart, I've seen it that color before, and the grain pattern looks the same.

Overall, that's a pretty sharp bass. The initials are odd, but not a deal breaker, you just need to make up a good story about it. FSL leaves a lot of options... ;)

Defintely Purpleheart...which turns brown with time.

I'm halfway expecting someone on here to chime in saying, "Oh yeah, I'm FSL -- that's my old bass."

The thing about the pics is even funnier/sketchier than you can see from the Reverb thread, because he actually sent me a bunch more through DM. I had asked him to measure the string spacing, so instead of just saying, yeah I measured it and it's 18mm, he sent pics of a ruler laid across the bridge, the nut, *along the strings* for no good reason... But they all avoided the 12th fret.

But, like I said before, not mad about it. More of an "eyeroll".

I figured out how to weigh it. Just 9.1 pounds, which is comparable to my Century 5, and less than my Classic 5. My Wyn 6 is 10.5, which does feel a bit heavy to me. The lightest I have is a Dingwall AB-II which is only 8.3. That thing feels like a feather.
