Roscoe Club

Here's that Century Signature 3006 I was talking about buying internationally.

The only negative on this deal is that the guy cleverly selected his pics to hide the 12th fret inlay of the original buyer's initials. Honestly, that's a bit of a bummer, but it's a nice enough instrument overall that I don't care too much ..

You could always get a nice block inlay installed at the 12th fret.

Okay - I’ll play. Here’s my one and only Roscoe, which I still love (much like my late mother)!

Definitely some trick photography work going on here! Someone stole the knobs and pots from both basses in the 2nd pic!:roflmao:

No trickery! I was replacing both bartolini preamps with Demeter and Nordy. Actually, the photo without the knobs was uploaded first and I didn’t want to use it because of that, but this TB app was not cooperating with me when trying to delete/remove it from my post. So, I left it and included the pic I initially intended to show.

Oh wow... I posted that new bass on the FB group and now I've got a guy saying it's stolen. And maybe it is. But I'm not sure how to figure out if I'm just being scammed.

I would certainly require a lot of documentation to believe the claim that it is stolen. I think there should be some sort of a paper trail to the original owner and perhaps photos of him playing the bass. My advice is to go slow and be certain before making any moves. I would contact the guy you bought it from and see what he has to say.

Sorry that you have someone making a claim about this lovely Roscoe.

Especially if it was stolen in Colombia. I would contact Reverb about it regardless and see what they have to say... no idea how the extradition policy for stolen instruments works :D

You should not be out of pocket for any charges though, that's what Reverb's fees are there for.

It was listed for sale on the internet... If it was stolen, and reported so, you'd think that it would have shown up there.

You did say that the initials were hidden on the listing.

However, this also smells like a scam from a foreign country. Stolen property just gets returned and not paid for. So they sell a bass abroad, get your $$, say it's stolen, get the bass back, and don't have to give any $$ back.

Sorry you're caught in the middle of something like this.
