Roscoe Club

The guy did finally send me a photo of a police report that contains the actual serial number. Just when I was starting to feel pretty sure it was a scam -- now it's looking more legit.

Reverb has no way to talk directly to a person. I used their AI chat, which generated an email to support with an SLA of 1-2 days. Ugh.

I think I'm going to call my local police and just see it they have any advice. Not even sure what agency would deal with international stuff like this.

So sorry Ed!
I hope that this somehow has a happy ending.
Not really sure how you could even go about validating whether there was an insurance payout for the instrument.

@edbutler3 situation is certainly heartbreaking. Condolences, Ed, with best wishes for positive resolution. Perhaps we could use some good news while waiting?

1-pc body, sliced, w/Mahogany lamination between body and top. Nice thematic variation. Gorgeous bass.

Heard a guy playing one at a gig a couple of weeks ago and there was like zero boom, I could hear EVEY NOTE from anywhere in the room ... so ...
Got this ash/maple classic coming in Monday from a fellow TB'er .... first real go-around for me and Roscoe.

Yep, every note is even and clear all the way up and down the neck on every string. It’s amazing. And the nicest feeling 5 string neck out there. You’ll be hooked. I remember when I got my first Roscoe. It looked a lot like this. I loved it. The band loved it. Enjoy.

Me, too. Looks a lot like my first Roscoe from Greg.

Oooohhh I’m thinking seriously about an LG5 with non slanted pickups. Let me know how you like it.

Some have said there MAY be some benefit to the reverse slant (putting the pickup closer to the bridge on the low string side) but I’m not sure that’s ever been scientifically proven.
Hard to prove without building the same bass both ways. But I did go with the reverse P setup on my Roscoe Classic, and I like what it does. Just seems like I want more depth on the high strings, rather than making the low strings bassier. Leo Fender made a lot of good design decisions, but seems to me he went the wrong way on that one.

That is what I had done to my “Jimmy” bass for just that reason.

I had always presumed the advantages as obvious. Particularly with an extended scale... Why wouldn't you want the B tighter? The G is always well ahead in pop, so why not pull it forward a bit for a softer impact to better balance overall?
