Roscoe Club

Well, since we're way off topic, maybe we can sway back a little the other way. Even though it's not a Roscoe bass, it is a Roscoe person (Kyle) with a project in the Roscoe shop. .

The flats sounded so good in the live mix (huge sanctuary) that I installed a set of TI flats on my Roscoe and Spector. After comparing them a few days the Spector was the clear winner, due to the bridge p/u being so close to the bridge. Growl for days! Probably due to it being an LG with the slanted p/u’s being a bit far from the bridge.

The right tool for the job! Take that any way you'd like ;)

I have found in the last 5 years that some tones that "aren't my favorite while practicing" sound great once in context. I never had flats until 5 years ago. I never really used a P sound since 1997. It has been a fun journey!

Ok. I’m responsible for the detour so I’ll try to get us back on track. My son Ben is going to help me get a good family photo this week but he did this for me in the meantime. It’s truly an embarrassment of riches but I have no regrets nor guilt lol. And yes there is still one more being crafted by the master at the present moment.

I agree- what a collection!
That LG5 in the top row-4th from the left is especially sweet. Is that the one you sent back to Keith for an overhaul?

No Jim I traded that bass for the six string LG. That bass was a 34” 5 string. It was a sweet bass but I wasn’t knocked out by the B string. It might have been in my head but the six was too tempting.

I still love this one

Hello all,

When I visit the Roscoe site, the pricing and options lists are still showing an effective year of 2017. I’m assuming pricing has changed since then? Is that true? If so, is there accurate pricing posted online?

Thanks!

No. The best way to get a price is to call Keith, have a budget in mind and go from there.

I had an outdoor gig yesterday. The weather here was terrible. We had a dust storm like a snowstorm. Sighs I took a picture. It was like driving in winter. I had hazards on and almost had to stop a couple times. It died down before we set up in a state park so trees sheltered us a bit, but by the time we played I ran my fingers over my bass and it had a thin layer of dust. Everything did. Anyway, as I was wiping the basses down this morning, I was again reminded of how awesome they are. My newest Classic P has such a great finish, and the way the fingerboard extends past the nut and the headstock design…so cool. And of course the Century that I’ve had for 10 years now. It has a few little things here and there, but still almost as good as new. It feels a little “dry” here and there. Mine is back when the standards only came with the oil finish. May have to talk to Keith and see if there’s anything I should do to extend the life of the finish.

Anyway, just a fanboy loving these basses.
