it's the bane of the manufacturer/distributor model...
The manufacturer can't undercut their distributors if they want to keep them.
And they can try to persuade the distributors not to undercut each other, because ultimately it cheapens the value of the brand, but they have limited power to enforce.
...there's a LOT more hardware available on the 'bay now.

Maybe it's just me being paranoid, but eBay used to be infested with pirate offshore counterfeit parts. i expect the reputable dealers have protections in place, but i figure it's always a gamble with some unknown eBay vendor.

I prefer fairly low action on my basses and have always been able to set my Roscoe basses up to my satisfaction as they came from the factory. My Century 5 is close at hand and I just looked and all of the bridge saddles are in adjustment range up or down.

That said, I would be willing to spend $200 to make a Roscoe play to my satisfaction if I had one that did not adjust to give me good action.

Found my “first” Roscoe on the FB page. Left a message that I’ll be glad to buy it back if he ever decides to part with it lol. Hey it’s worth a shot. The fretless six on the left. :)

Well, 4 strings IS less than 5…so what’s the problem? ;)

Yeah, 4 is less than 5. It’s a great bass and I find myself playing 4’s more than 5’s these days, but I need a B string for some things I do and swapping 3 basses, sometimes all in one set, is just a little bit more than I want to do. I don’t like people waiting on me.
Who knows, I may change my mind after some analysis paralysis.

Since I bought my SKB 3006 and Century 3005 I seem to have a lack of GAS. I do have a bass cabinet on order but other than that I really want nothing. My Century 5 is going to church with me this morning. I have been using the SKB 6 but want to get the 5 out of the house.

I guess it is all Keith's fault. I am content with the Roscoe basses I own.

Just an observation....my SKB 6 is a recent one and has had the benefit of the Plek system. My Century 5 was completed over 20 years ago prior to the Plek being used and the difference in the way they play is negligible. This is a testament to Keith's ability. I am confident that the Plek system reduces man hours required for fret jobs and is more consistent.

Okay, it is time for me to go enjoy my 3005. Have a blessed Sunday, you Roscoeheads!

I wish TB had a love option in addition to the like option lol. So glad you too are enjoying what Keith is providing to the bass world Chuck.

Question about oil finished basses, like my Koa Century 5. I tried contacting Roscoe but haven’t heard back. What do they use to make it look so shiny and awesome? I bought mine back when you couldn’t get the “fancy finish” and stuff on a “standard” bass. It looked so good when I got it back from being PLEK’ed. I’d like to be able to get it to look like that all the time.
