Roscoe Club

Once again another under-priced GEM!

Yeah, original Rocket "blowout" price was $3250 IIRC. I suppose with inflation (general, and Roscoe) I could've upped the price, but 1) buyer hooked me up with immediate purchase and favorable payment arrangement, and 2) TB is a community as much as a marketplace, or so I like to think, and would like to keep it that way. Don't need to profit, just recoup.

What goes around tends to come around. :) Enjoy it Scott!

Thanks Daniel! I’m the same way. I can probably count on one hand the number of times I’ve sold gear for a proffit in the hundreds of basses I’ve bought and sold over the past nearly 40 years. I just generally try not to lose money but I’m rarely successful there either lol.

Making money is grand. Making music is better. I always consider a sale price for less than acquisition price to be equivalent to rent. And the more notes played on a bass before sale makes it more cost effective. The value indicator is "notes played per dollar spent." Making a profit? That usually dissipates over future purchases.

Great sentiment in my book

I haven’t put my LG3000 on Reverb yet. I’d rather not get stuck with the 1099 at the end of the year. Maybe I need a wider audience.
If you use PayPal, you’ll get a 1099 too. I don’t remember if it includes the fee free transactions (friends and family), but I was surprised by one this last year. Since I didn’t make any profit on my sales, it didn't affect my tax return. I don’t remember getting on from Zelle, fyi.

I’m no tax expert, but at least so far these new rules aren’t the end of the world. Until I get audited :rollno:

I just sold a pedal on Reverb, and between the almost 8% fees and the sales tax the buyer paid (plus I was able to get a better shipping rate through my own UPS account), makes me like selling on TB even more :D

Moderators, I’m not sure if it’s kosher to post a few pictures of my now missing Roscoe SKB3006, but please let me know. Somehow it sprouted legs, and walked off by itself.
If anyone has seen it, or anything to that effect, please PM me.

Thank you.

Interesting stories about those two LG’s.
The Buckeye Burl was a special order by a bass store in Greensboro called “Perfect Bass” for their grand opening giveaway. It has a beautiful wedge neck. I got it in a trade from the giveaway winner.
The Koa was acquired from Atlanta Bass Gallery as a trade for a Roscoe 6’er, which looked similar to the LG 5. It was new and needed a good home. Almost coming full circle with this one, if you get my drift. ;)

Thank you!!

Salt Lake City, Utah.
I can’t pinpoint exactly when, because I thought it was being safely stored in a spare room at my sister in law’s house, which is in a nice area.

Coming up with an exact time frame is going to be hard. But let’s say within the last two years.
