TWO YEARS!?!
Well, thanks anyway for the “positive vibes.” There’s nothing quite as uplifting as being mildly ridiculed.Maybe more, maybe less. I don’t know. I own several basses, some that I greatly prefer over this Roscoe. I’m a long haul truck driver, so I’m away from home a lot. I made a mistake, and thought it was in good hands.
The SKB3006 is quite neck heavy. I had another 6-string bass custom built by a different builder that doesn’t have any neck-dive, and quite frankly, I greatly prefer it’s sound over the Roscoe. I intended to sell it, but I couldn’t find the time to list it. Yep, another mistake on my part.
So, once again, I thought the Roscoe was stored in trustworthy hands. It’s a family member, who lives in a very nice area. She feels absolutely horrible about it.
I have a theory of who is partly responsible, because the person, who was the only child of the lady storing my bass, died from a drug overdose. This person, was extremely spoiled, and had access to unlimited funds, because both Dad and Mom are very well off.
So, my hunch is the thief is someone who was close to the rich kid, and was a fellow addict. Users tend to hang out with Users.
I’ve accepted the fact that I’ll never recover it. Other than:
In my area, there’s not too many bass players who play 6-string on gigs. AND it’s a fairly unique bass.
I’m trying to spread the word out to as many people as possible, because who knows? What have I got to lose?

I appreciate how difficult it is to be a truck driver. One of my friends and a relative both drive so I know something about what is involved. I applaud you for working and doing a job that benefits all of us.
I am sorry that your bass is missing. Home owner's insurance should cover it and you are likely correct in that those in drug culture are quite likely to have taken it to sell.

We're not ridiculing you as much as we're looking for info to help and you just seem to not be able to provide it. FWIW I've known 3 folks who have had their Roscoe walk away from a gig returned to them within a month.
This one is tough. A couple of photos, a big city, and an even bigger time frame. I remember when I see Roscoe basses in the wild. Pawn Shops generally won't touch them as they're too unique and expensive looking- and buying one from a tweaker is a big risk.
FWIW, I'm not home a lot either. I'm in the military. I was a Marine for 11 years then cross commissioned into the Air Force. I get it. I've known guys who have had come home from a deployment to learn that their (soon to be Ex) wives have used the general power of attorney to sell their house, their car, all of their belongings, cleared the bank accounts, maxed the credit cards, and disappeared. So this isn't eye-opening, it happens.
I can tell you that I have not seen this bass in the past two years in western Michigan. Nor have I seen it in the places I've been other than that- but they're nowhere close to Salt Lake.
Have you called Keith yet? Have you filed a police report? (I'm guessing you have not, seeing as how it could be family...)
Try Guitar Czar, they do/did consignments. I'll ask the former luthier, recently left; if he recalls seeing it.

I’ve caught my limit on SKB’s lol. Leaving some for everyone else.
Well, there doesn’t seem to be much interest in an old 4 string LG with single coil jazz pups so I guess I’ll embrace it a little. We have a private lake place gig on Saturday. Was going to play my Century 5 and bring the LG for backup but maybe I’ll reverse it and play the LG until we get to songs where I need the B string. Usually grouped together at the end of the 2nd set with Uptown Funk near the end of the 3rd set. Songs with a low D I’m just gonna tune down for and play DADG. We’ll see how it goes.
Take the bass you want to play, the LG 4’er and two bass stands to the gig. On your way to the gig stop to buy a cute “for sale” sign. When you setup for the gig set the LG on a stand out in front of you and place the for sale sign on it.

It’s got that crazy pink figure of Japanese maple that Fodera uses a lot. If I didn’t want a coloured finish on my signature, I’d be hitting up the shop now to switch to this hooley dooley
