Roscoe Club

My son likes my Roscoe basses. He thinks it'd be cool to have a Roscoe guitar. Not sure if Keith will still make one or not.

Kyle had a couple in the works (other than his skull guitar) when I was at the shop a couple years ago.

When I asked, Keith said their focus is basses these days, but they get a small but increasing number of guitars going out the door. Not sure if that was a fluke or if it kept up.

Well, he plays bass as well and frequently uses my Classic P. He also uses my Genzler combo as my stuff is all DI so he has a $1,200 bass practice amp at home. :woot: Also a nice Martin acoustic. Perks of having a dad in the biz I guess. He did inherit my taste for expensive gear.

Back to guitars with a recent Roscoe LP in the shop, and some Roscoe historic reference. For a look at the Meeks guitar, you'll have to venture to the IG* page.

Does anyone here have experience using Nordstrand Big Splits in your LG? If so, feel free to share your feedback.

I have the original Barts (2008-ish), and am jonesing for a more open/less wooly sound. Using a John East Uni-Pre in my LG.

I don’t know about Big Splits but Fatstacks did that for me.

I had a friend that put them in an LG-3005 and they were a bit bright sounding for my taste.
I’d say that the Bart CB’s are somewhere nice between the Nord Big Splits and the Roscoe Barts.

And here’s a pic of Perry’s (Stryper) finished Roscoe (at least I think it is; he played it at a concert several months ago) …

Spent some time yesterday with past Roscoe builder Tony Morton. He was giving me some interesting insight on the Roscoe guitars that they made for a period. Always cool hanging with Tony or Sanders at the upright shop in Greensboro.

In addition to that I wanted to share some pictures from my first big band gig with my new Custome LG 3006. Played and sounded great. What a beautiful instrument.

Thinking of putting my black LG3005 custom up for sale. It doesn't see much action since I hit the ball out of the park with the standard that I ordered almost 3 years ago. It has become my #1. Plus the anticipation of my upcoming order will cover most playing situations. I think I'll take out the Fatstacks and put it back to stock first. But that piano black is just so sexy...

OK, I'm on the fence with this, now. Just got it back from my tech, putting the original Barts back in. I don't remember it sounding so good! I'll have to play it a bit more to decide.
