Maybe they will. A "classic" body/pickup configuration with the "familiar" Roscoe neck would be a great bass. Probably what "we" were hoping for in a Roscoe Classic bass.

I appreciate that it’s different and I haven’t played a 4.
But, all my other Fender style 5s are 19MM and in comparison the Roscoe classic 5 feels like I’m trying to swing a baseball bat from the wrong end.

I’ve only played one Classic 5 and it did feel big. I’ve got a Fender Pro Precision V and Fender Pro Jazz V and both have great feeling necks. Quite thin top to back. The Fender V's are 1.85 at the nut (but they are ~18mm spacing at the bridge.

Which model Modulus are you referring to? I’ve owned a few 5 strings and they didn’t feel that wide to me.
Q5. I know for sure the Gould is 2.05 and the Q5 I had was very similar although much thicker front to back than the Gould
I think the newer Mods are narrower but the classic Q5 was a hunk at the nut
It’s great! No gigs right now, but hope to have something in the works in the spring.
Well I was drinking my coffee this morning and did a search on YouTube for Roscoe basses and came across a video that our own Adam (@steelin4u ) posted about 3-4 years ago.
Really great production and demo of the subtle sounds of various configurations of a Roscoe.
I though that it deserved to be re-posted.

Thanks for posting it back up, Joe! It wasn't my finest production, but I really had a passion to get a video out there that showcased the Roscoe sound, and specifically the differences in pickups, placement, and wood.

You sure it wasn’t a wide one? They had a 6 string neck that was only strung with 5 strings, with like 21mm string spacing. Moduluseseses ain’t known for thick necks… even some of the older 6 strings had ridiculously tight string spacing…
I’ve modeled all of my 6 string basses off of the nut width of the old modulus basses, and they had a 2” nut width. I’d be shocked if the normal offering 5 string was that wide
Not really Roscoe talk but...
Heading to the "big city" next week to pick up my G&L JB2 bass from the shop. I had some pickups custom wound for it. Also redid electronics to vol/blend/tone. Pretty excited to hear it. It was a decent bass but the electronics were weak. It's a tribute model so it's expected, but the finish on the body is really nice, and there's almost figuring on the maple board. I've been playing a lot of 4 string lately, so I'm excited to see if this bass will get in regular rotation.
Still debating a fretless. Not sure if I'd really make use of it or if it's just a passing fancy as I've been listening to some Jaco and other jazz stuff lately.
Still like this bass with the D tuner.

That being said, never hurts to revisit things… I used steel strings since I started, then switched to nickels several years ago, but have been trying some steels again on different basses… so who knows? My mom jokes about what a picky eater I was as a kid, and now I eat all kinda of stuff, guess we’re always “evolving”
My Q6 has comfortably tight string spacing. I have not seen a Q5 or Q6 with wide spacing. My Gould ggi5 and ggi6 have slightly wider spacing than the Modulus. The necks on the Gould basses are thinner front to back. They are also very comfortable to play.
Yeah, I don't think I'd ever actually get that bass. I have my "Roscoe" sound with my Century 5. A fretless is still my interest. Something I don't have, and a different challenge for me.
