EVERY SINGLE TIME I lay my hands on this bass I love it more and more. Just put a set of DR Sunbeams on it and lowered the action just a tad! Guh....... so in love!

I thought that this morning. I'm playing a little gospel thing with the Freshmen Choir tonight on their concert and ran it with them today. I don't even have to think when i play my CS+5 any more. Everything just happens. I always have the thought in the back of my mind that I could "get buy" with a lesser but still nice bass (Lakland, G&L, something like that) but then I play mine and grab an appropriate low C# and D and think man, there just isn't a better sounding B out there. And the neck feels so good and it's under 8 pounds. I need to just accept Roscoe as my bass.

I may try Sunbeams when I restring next week. I've been using Hi Beams forever so maybe it's time to change it up and see how I like it.

I'm a big fan of Sunbeams, especially with the Roscoe Barts. To me the Sunbeams don't match real well with the Roscoe JJ pickups. For the JJ, I like the tone of Fender Pure Nickels but the tension is pretty high and they don't make a B. The Sadowsky Blue nickel plated strings sound pretty good with JJs as well.

Well, all I have these days is my Roscoe Bart CS+5. I think Gard or Jon or someone said that the DR Sunbeams are similar to the "stock" Roscoe strings.

I'll disagree for the block, Alex. I've recently switched TO the Sunbeams on my Roscoe JJ. It's going to be very difficult to find something that works better than they do.

First gig with my Century 5 Plus today! It killed. Just killed. I've had a LOT of basses over the years but man this Roscoe...KILLS! It was an outdoor town festival, perfect weather, perfect bass, (not so) perfect playing :) It just all came together, and the DR Black Beauties were just icing on the Roscoe cake. Seems like with every bass I've had, no matter how fantastic, there's always that one thing I would change...not with this bass. Can't think of a thing. Well okay, I wish it printed money, but that's it!

RE:The new Sunbeams.

They are amazing. My B string is even more clear and full than before. Same tone all accross the fingerboard, up and down. Of course, Roscoe has a lot to do with that, but I am liking these strings. The Hi Beams may be booted from my top string spot.

And it could just be my setup, I have the Nordstrand NJ5F pickups with the Aguilar OBP3 preamp. I use the Sunbeams on my CS4 and my Lakland Daryl Jones.

Hi Dear friends.... Nice pictures and nice themes... Now I want to see your vids playing your beloved Roscoe´s live!!!

I start sharing one with a SKB5 BX LE with Aguie electronics with our church band in Bogotá, Colombia...

The last time I went to Columbia I was kidnapped. My captives were asking for 1 million in ransom until they found out I was a bass player. They ended up offering a priest $100 to take me but after complaining, they gave the priest his requested $500. :D

I have Sunbeams on my Aguilar BCD equipped RMLE and that is a glorious match. The harmonic presence is so rich, organic and full. I switched over from the D'Addario Nickel which I like but the Sunbeams have all that and more. Gonna do the same thing in my Century Standard Plus 5JJ next.
