Does anybody know if it's possible to get a narrower string spacing than 18.3mm?
I'd love 17-ish mm spacing

Man, I love this forumSure. Several have been made with 16.5, 17, 19 and 20mm spacing.
Keith Ladd had a 30” scale LG-3005 made with 16.5mm spacing and I know of a headless bass in the works now that’s 32” scale with 16.5mm spacing.I've heard of wider but never narrower. Interesting.
Amazingness.New Arrival. I wanted to get back to the signature Roscoe Bart/Bart tone (along with my preferred LG Body style with straight pick-ups).
Thanks to @Freddy-G.

Sad to say that I got word recently that Doug Baltimore recently passed away. Doug was a long time Roscoehead that had probably the finest collections of Roscoes (and MTD’s and amps) that I’ve seen. You long time Roscoheads will remember him. He only lived about 5 minutes from the Roscoe shop.
My Prayers and thoughts go out to his family.
Joe's comment is from a search of this very Roscoe club thread, regarding tonal "steroids." There are numerous posts. And, a Bass Player Magazine review I saw from over 20-years ago, referenced Roscoe's "Mammoth tone, high-phat sound," and "Hot output that could easily overdrive an amp.". . I'm also a big Precision fan (more so lately). The first review that Bass player did on the Roscoe resulted in them describing it as a P-Bass on steroids. I think that was due to the rather throaty tone you can get with the neck pickup soloed.
I have been experimenting with this as well. I remember hearing P-Bass on steroids as well back in the day. I think it does work. Certainly good enough in a live situation. I have been using a P a lot but using the front pickup on my Century saves me from having to swap basses. I will sometimes bump the mids just a touch and roll off the treble just a touch. I have teh treble rolled off a little most of the time as it seems just a little brite/harsh in the top end once in a while.Joe's comment is from a search of this very Roscoe club thread, regarding tonal "steroids." Other comments from the review include: "Supercharged P-tone," "Deep and rich with mids that speak," and a "B that is mighty." The bass being reviewed was an LG 5-string model.
@JOME77 and I recently agreed that using just the Roscoe neck pickup produces a desirable Precision-type tone. I have found this to be extremely helpful in venues where P-basses often reign. Subsequently, I've recently been using just my Roscoe SKB neck pickup as my default setting at sound checks/performances. The result is that FOH is quite happy with a Roscoe tone that is desirable and familiar, is easy to work with, and fits the mix.
A major upside for me is no fussing with 3-bands of onboard preamp controls, pickup balance, or series/parallel switches. My set-and-forget configuration is Roscoe SKB 5-string, neck pickup solo, with EQ flat. My signal goes to an HPF, Mesa signal buffer, and then, FOH. It's a set-and-forget proposition, with a happy FOH. Win-win scenario!
