People usually call BS on that though, especially if it was sold here. You can usually go back and find the history to get an idea of what you are comfortable paying. Some people do try to pull one over. Buyer beware.

...and this is why we do not involve ourselves in used sales or valuation. We will tell you the original retail price if we can determine it, and we will tell you the new price, but "what is this used bass worth?" is a question that just makes me pull hair out.

The favorite answer here in the shop: "It's worth what you'll pay to get it." :ninja:

I agree 100%, and am not pointing a finger at any specific brand, as near as I can see it's an overall trend. I personally never lowball anyone, if the asking price is IMHO too high, I just don't play.

Steve, post a photo when you have it, I live vicariously through this thread, and don't have a Facebook page. I do have my "bury with me Roscoe," but like to see other people exhibit the high intelligence exhibited by Roscoe ownership. :D

Ah, yes, I was not thinking - you're not a native English speaker, so puns may not work so well....;)

Ash is phonetically very close to the sound of a word used to identify a certain area of the body, which on a female can be very very attractive to a male. If you substitute a second "s" for the "h" in ash, you will have the answer - my apologies for assuming you would get my pun. :)

I have owned two Ash Roscoe's a JJ and a SKB but Ash just didn't click for me. The plus side to Ash is it is very light. Alder and Spanish Cedar fit my bill, though I have had a couple mahogany Roscoe's that sounded sweet as well but the weight was a bit much for me as one was 11.1lbs and the other was 10.15lbs.

Well, I played upright as well as electric so it's a little different for me. I guess the reason I like fretless is the options. You can sound freted or you can let the mwah loose. I also like how you feel more connected. More organic maybe. More expressive. I love my fretted, but when I had a fretless before I played it 90% of the time.

And there's no fretless like a Roscoe.

I NEVER visited the club and I still caught the bug. I just can't put that bass down.

It is going to be a while until I can play a fretless in public but I'll make do with my Ken Lawrence or Lakland.
