Maybe simple, but all the basses are covered. My fretless and fretted Centuries cover all my gigs and more. An EUB might be nice, but I actually got more compliments on sound when I used a Rob Allen Mouse for my "upright" work.

I still wouldn't mind a Century 5 P/J down the road...

Century Standard 5 JB Fretless, Trans White over ash, Bart J's in "JB" spots & Bart 3-band, unlined fretless Black Diamondwood ("Stormtrooper")
Century Standard 5M Fretted, Charcoal Burst over ash, Aggie AG-5M & OBP-3 preamp, Bird's Eye Maple fingerboard ("Vader")
NS Design CR5M

That's it, not much to talk about there, my tastes are pretty simple actually.

Would it be a sin to put white-pearl block inlay stickers on my pau ferro board? Ah well, I'm gonna do it anyway. :laugh: Afterall, I don't want to de-value the bass (even though I doubt I'll ever part with it).

Also, I can't get over how good the action is on my new one. My used one is almost as good, as it will be going in for a fret job soon. Keith may be on to something with these stupidly easy-playing necks....

Btw, can I get a number?

The stickers are your call....I wouldn't, but my aesthetic choices are very clearly evident in the design of the Standard models. I was the guy that called "no inlays" for those. I'm a pretty "clean lines, no clutter" kind of cat - plus, it's less labor and helps keep the costs down. ;)

If you dig stuff like that, however, go for it! :thumbsup:

Right, I obviously understand the aspect of keeping costs down. I just want something to offset the plain headstock with the dark board. If it was a maple board like my other one, then I wouldn't do it. The maple/maple looks more "complete" to me, but I love both of these fretboard woods.

Good call. I like the 12th fret inlay on the custom/signature models, but I prefer none. I recall asking for no inlay on my first Standard order and being told it wasn't on them anyway. I do like lines on my fretless board though. If I ever had a 2nd fretless, I'd probably try an unlined ebony board. I should have bought that one that Greg had for so long. That was a sweet bass. Of course, my current fretless is about as nice a fretless as I have played.
