Greetings folks!!!!!
Question for LG owners:
Which gig bags have the best fit for LG basses?
I was using a protect contego but decided to go back to hard case since the bass was kinda floating around and I didn't want the bass to be damaged.
Thanks for the input in advance.

I use the Contego for mine, or if I'm carrying two basses to a gig, I put the LG into the Roscoe soft case - it's a perfect fit and has a little more protection than a gig bag.

If you want more protection than a gig bag but don't want to go with hard case, I'd suggest you think about an old Roscoe soft side case. They are lighter than a hard case, protect fairly well, have good size compartments and are not expensive. Shouldn't be to hard to find one. lots of folks have them laying around.

Body Glove. Huge protection. Bass only once out of tune when taken out before a gig.

What is this Rumor that I hear about a Roscoe/Talkbass GTG? When is the next one?
I've heard that rumor for a couple of years.
I'm beginning to think Urban Myth...

Seriously - Roscoe gets a lot done with a small crew (helps keep them affordable) so everybody is pretty busy most of the time. Add to that the logistics and effort of moving to a new shop without impacting production, and coordinating the touring schedules of the Major Guest Stars, it's not an easy thing to get all the stars and planets aligned just right.

I'm hoping to attend my first, but it's a bit of a hike from SEPA so planning is required...

Sigh....yes, it WILL happen, but when is totally unknown at this point. Best laid plans, etc, etc.

The move to our new shop has gone....well....is still going....longer than originally expected. By a couple of months so far. And still is. :banghead:

The bottom line is this: most likely, it will be either in the fall or next spring. We will probably not complete the move for another 3-4 weeks, and once that's done we will still have so much organizational stuff going on that we just can't afford to do the GTG and interrupt things until we finish getting the shop properly organized. I'm guessing that will take another couple of months once the actual physical part of the move is done.

This whole experience has been not unlike tap dancing in a mine field on a moonless night on stilts while blindfolded after drinking an entire bottle of vodka in one gulp.

Remind me not to do this again, hmmkay?

Thanks for taking the time to answer... I read about the move. Never quite envied any shop that has to go through this process and still keep moving forward.

God luck with the move!

I know this is a late reply but ....... I've got both the Mono and the Protec Contego bags and the LG's fit a bit looser in both bags. Unfortunately, due to the petite body of the LG, it will probably move around a bit more in any stock gig bag. IMO though that should hurt it.
For what it's worth, you could probably move the 2 liner covered foam inserts w/velcro (that come with the Protec) and locate them at the top and bottom sides (of the body) and the LG would fit more snug. You can probably even order a couple extra so you can have them at the body bottom and sides).

Here's a pic with the foam inserts moved to the sides (please excuse the out of focus cell phone pic):

Thanks Joe
I like the idea and I actually like the protect but was wondering if there was something else out there.
I've been checking the gator go pro

Gratuitously silly use of the Roscoe-Cam at this weekend's Schwenksville Community Day Festival.
Onboard sound - someday I'll figure out how to edit the 'good' recording into a video...
Debut of the 'hat-and-shades' image - this was our first 'real' (i.e. not open mike) gig.
Just the same 12-bar pattern over and over but it's got a nice funky vibe.
Not one person told me 'there's no 6-strings in Blues' or 'there's no fretless in Blues'.

Wow! I've been off line for almost 2 weeks and all that I missed were 2 posts!

Not Much Roscoe talk going on on TB these days .........

I'm just getting over an out-patient surgery and finally got to go upstairs where my computer is to get on line. My Roscoe exceeds the Dr. allowed weight limit so I haven't played it in a couples weeks either. I've got a good wife though! She was sweet enough to bring the Roscoe downstairs and put in one of my stands so I could at least look at it! :)

It's almost as fun to look at as it is to play! :bassist:
