Roscoe Club

Tried the SunBeams on My Roscoe LG.. terrible.. Fodera strings and the ones that came with the bass initially sounded better.. I must try these XL's now..

but I know the answer is LaBella strings.. hehe..

Dunlop SuperBrights make a Roscoe sound like a Roscoe is supposed to sound! Do yourself a favor and order some from bassstringsonline.com

No pics no Roscoe!
Enjoy it!

Here's a better one I whipped up:

Hey everyone,

I've put up two sale ads in the classifieds that some of you might be interested in. Long story short, I recently had a personal issue arise that will preclude me from playing for quite a while so, these guys need new homes.

That red MM/J gives me SERIOUS gas. So much that I'd consider a 3 way trade for my (THE) fretless LG3005...

Sorry to hear that Joel. Let me know if you need anything Bro!

My thoughts and prayers are with you.

Just want to confirm I understand the mid control on the NTMB+F in my Roscoe correctly, and that my ears aren't tricking me... when I pull the mid pot up it selects 250Hz as the target frequency, and when it's pushed down to its lower position it selects 800Hz, correct?

I'm looking for some advice on round-wound strings from the Roscoe hive mind. A month ago I put a set of DR Nickel Lo Rider mediums on my wonderful SKB 5 string (Roscoe Barts, Bart preamp) and I'm not feeling the love. They're stiffer than is comfortable for me (for comparison, I like the low tension of the TI flats I have on my P bass and my fretless J). The finger style sound is good, but I'm in a band now where I'm doing some slapping for the first time in years, and with these strings the sound seems to vanish in the mix when I go to the thumb.

I was thinking about trying some Sunbeams, but I also have been reading good things about the Dunlop nickel SuperBrights. Does anybody have experience with either of those on a Roscoe, or other string advice? Thanks in advance for whatever you can share.

I have been using DR Hi Beams for a long time. My 5 (soapbar Bart's and Bart pre) wasn't doing it for me so I decided to try something else. I tried DR Flats. Nah. The local store had D'Addario NYXL Nickle Rounds. Roscoe uses D'Addario as stock (I think) and lots of people like D'Addario so I figured what the heck.

Love them! Full, nice bottom, highs not as bright as the Hi Beams, good mids. Put them on my 6 as well.
