Thanks Steve.
If those were the only 2 basses I had I'd be fine.
Lately all that I've been playing are the 2 STD JB basses. I haven't even taken my Custom out of the case lately.
Ever since I installed the EB Cobalt flats on the JB fretted it's the only bass that I want to play.
When I changed out the Type B bridges for the Type A I installed a set of the TI Jazz Flats on the JB fretted and they sound really cool too! They seem to have a bit more low end to the tone and are a bit more traditional FLAT WOUND sounding than the EB Cobalts. They both sound so cool (and yet different) that I'm thinking of keeping the TI flats on the fretted JB and ordering a set of the EB Cobalt flats for my fretted Custom and play them like that for a while.
And I tell you, your recent rave about getting a P-Bass (or the P-bass sound) pushed me into trying the neck pickup soloed. I'm digging the sound so much right now that my pan control hasn't left that position for a couple/three weeks. I love that sound with flats!
I did play a Fender American Pro 4 P-bass again yesterday and I'm afraid that I'm going to have to get one. They feel and sound so cool! It'll be my R&B and Southern Rock bass.
Can you guys say "Well,
take me back down where
cool water flows,
y'all."!!!

I feel like a "Blast from the Past"!
