Roscoe Club

That's why you need to purchase that used Roscoe STD P/J model .............One with flats and one with XL170's.:)

The Roscoe sound can be more than one sound ........;)

.... or you could just go for a P-Bass! :bassist:
Yeah, Roscoes can be more than one sound, but I really like the one with the D'Addario rounds...
I have flats on my JB-2 but while I kind of like them.... I don't know.

Yep. I tried flats very briefly but went back to rounds, and then D'Addario 170's with the .130 B string. I think a Roscoe with Barts and those strings is the Roscoe sound...to me.
Yes! I posted earlier I had mine set up with DR Hi Beams with the 125 B. I had to roll the highs back a tad and the mid range was just a little lacking and sounded tin y. I know that's not a word lol. But I went back to the DaDdario XL 170 and there it is. The Roscoe sound and monster Low B in all its glory. The mid range character was there too. I could play the bass completely flat again.

So, not only is 'tin y' not a word, but I also think 'DaDdario' falls into that same not-a-word category. IJS

I still roll my treble off sometimes.

What's all the excitement about surrounding this year's Night of Worship rehearsal?
lol
A little tired and frustrated about an issue but got it solved lol
It was not my issue,it was the drummers (4) issue but as a musicians leader it becomes mine in a way.
This my 7th. year with the NOW convention out of 8.
Love being part of it like there's no tomorrow.
Ours unlike many other Night of Worship events or service includes members of over 10 local churches.
Singers,musicians, dance teams,sound tech,security, ushers,shofarist.

You really should try Sunbeams. A bit more low mid content than other DR strings....

Jon,
You certainly got a really nice bass sound on the recordings with Robert J.
Which Roscoe did you use on the "Somethin' Good Is Comin'" tracks?

That's my Roscoe SKB std+ with DR Sunbeams! Such a good recording setup!

So, got the Roscoe Demeter BEQP-1 in yesterday, after a four month wait, and was eager to install it in my LG. I pulled the Bartolini preamp out. I'm going with the 18v as opposed to the pre-wired 9v, so I make my cuts and prep the ends. I started with the cable plug first and added my ground wire. Next to the stack pot, which was no problem getting it in position and loosely tightened down. Then, next to the volume pot, but WHAT!!! The remaining three pots have 2/8 thread height!!
Roscoe needs at least 3/8 thread height pot, which is why I specified it was for a Roscoe!!
WOW! Really?!?!? :rollno:

So I went to order another 5 string set of the Ernie Ball Slinky Cobalt Flats and MF had them on sell for $25.99!
Great price so I ordered 2 sets. Regularly $36.99 (which is still a good price compared to the price of TI Jazz Flats [$90-$115 for a 5 string set]).

Surprise, surprise!!!

Good ole' James strikes again ..........

In the past (prior to my last order) I was able to remove the star washer and nut (inside) and then was able to get them to tighten down sufficiently. If you've already tried that ....... then good luck!

You could always use the router to thin up the distance between the top and the inside wall ......... :D

I hate that for you man, especial after waiting that long. I know when I sent my Cocobolo Roscoe to Keith to swap electronics and Plek I really wanted the Demeter put in. Keith was adamant against me using it and told me the reason he quick stocking and using their products was he had so many issues with them. Said his last batch he got that a very high percentage of them was faulty in some way or another. He definitley wasn’t height on them.
