Roscoe Club

JOME77, post: 22385555, member: 25737"]Yeah. Johnny tried to get me to take the GBE 1200 (he still has one of those and another HT322) but that amp weighs another 9 lbs (42 lbs) and if I ever wanted to play it through my Berg HD112 it would have had too much potential to blow it up!:eek::eek::poop::poop::poop:

I typically play my Mesa D800+ through the HD112 (and it sounds really good) but the GBE 750 totally kills though it.
The 750 through the HT322, well let's just say it took the doctor 1 hour to pop my jaw back into place (the first time I played through the rig). :bassist::bassist::bassist:[/QUOTE]

Everyone's ears are a little different, but to me the Berg HT-322 is the top of top shelf. The best I've played through anyway. But you're not going to pick it up with one hand, put it in your VW bug, and go gig a couple times a week. It's not HUGE but it approaches 100 lbs. Two 10s, one 12 and a tweeter.

If you're playing at very low volumes (sleeping baby down the hall) the GBE amps are very similar to their smaller class D cousins. Hard for me to tell a difference. But if you push just a bit (or spend some time down on that "B" string) there is a difference to my ear. Maybe the harmonic content is better. Don't know. But the GBEs definitely put that silly grin on my face.

The danger is if you get a rig like Joe got, you develop a propensity to shout out strange new phrases like "YOU KIDS GET OFF MY LAWN".

I still have one GBE 1200, and one HT-322. Just two more things my wife will have to deal with after I'm gone.

I see the cabinets have casters! I put those in just about evertthing nowadays! Ive been trying to figure out how they arrived at HT-322 from a 2-10, 1-12 cabinet.
Shouldn’t it be HH-10212, or BB-21012, where HH = Heavy as Hell, BB = Back Breaker?

LOL

You know I tried the same reasoning. I though it thought it should be HT-332 (3 speakers totaling to 32" (10 + 10 +12 =32). In that era of Berg, everything was prefixed with "HT". Not sure what that meant. Just like I don't know what "HD" meant. I get "HDN" but only for the "N" = neo "HD" = Heavy Duty? "HT" Heavy w/Tweeter?

Who knows .... But they sound so good!:)

I’ll have to ask Jeff how they came up with that name.

EDITED: I posted in the wrong thread. For some reason, but I think I know how, I thought the HT-322 was a Genz-Benz box.

Thanks @Fred312b!!

Simple, 210+112=322

Well, those TB'er over in the Genzler thread are the smartest players!!! Second only to the players in this thread!!!

@JOME77, you were on the right path. The answer I got from the Genzler thread was is '210 + 112= 322'!. Don't know what the HT stands for, but maybe 'Heavy Too'.

Build update!

I figure you guys will appreciate this as much as I do, and anyone who is GASing for a new Roscoe here's your reason to spend some money!

So here's the body, routed, sanded and ready for color. @JOME77 will be happy to know that I decided to go with a sienna burst as opposed to a blue stain. That spalt pattern really needs to shine! Also going towards a maple fretboard.

it's amazing how I thought I wanted one thing, and in the end I'm getting a 5 string LG-3005 PJ with Bartolini pickups and electronics, which is what I wanted, but the wood is beyond what I thought I would get. When the artist come out and starts giving you options, you really just have to go with it and realize that art is being created.

Awesome!
Great specs! I’d love to hear a P/J Roscoe. Glad to hear that you went with a tint that will allow that awesome spalt to show through really well!
Nature spent a lot of time producing that top!:)

@JOME77, I guess that makes it ‘a fish y’all’!

Lol
Ray, I read your post 4-5 times yesterday and just couldn't figure out what you meant. I'm thinking "what's a fish got to do with anything"?
I finally read it this morning (after a fresh cup of coffee) and got it!:D

That reminds me .....

Have you guys seen the new movie "Constipation"?
Never mind. It hasn't come out yet!

That was told to me by my 8 year old grandson.
