Roscoe Club

That one actually is the only one that already has the fingerboard and neck ready and it is a BEM. I've asked for picture for it as I'm not normally a Maple fretboard type person as I like darker woods. I just like how they don't show stains as easily after years of use. Who am I kidding...I don't keep one long enough to worry about that lol.
I've been playing my maple neck/board for 6 years now. I think it looks the same as the day I bought it.

Alright Roscoe gang. What fretboard would look best with this Boxwood Elder top.

Well after just talking to Keith he has threw a wrench into my plans. He knew after past conversations that I've wanted a ROyal Blue bass built and have had past builder build one that wasn't good (i'm looking at you Warrior). So he pulled 2 bodies one in a Quilt and one in a Flame. Both have the Spanish Cedar body and I can have my choice of fretboard in either BEM or Wenge. Not sure what would look best or sound best with these woods. Will have Bart Electronics so I want opinions as I want to get the best sounding for the woods the bass will have but I also want it to look good. What do you think on the fretboard for this bass. Here is a bass he just completed in Blue flame and Maple Fretboard to give an idea.

Well, it’s an XYZ bass, but I am partial to the BEM with royal blue, however I also think a dark wenge board would look great as well. I personally prefer quilt to flame maple as well, but that completed burst ome is sharp and more flamey... so I guess I’m not much help, but whichever you choose, I think it’ll be sharp, and you’ll have no problem selling it in the classifieds a few weeks later :D

Well it’s settled I’m having this Quilted beauty done in a blue stain poly finish with Spanish Cedar body. Neck is standard Custom with Ebony fretboard and black hardware. It will of course have the Roscoe Bart electronics. I’m excited to see what Keith does with this bass. He’s going to enhance the grain like this Roscoe bass I found on Lowendbass.com.

That looks very nice!
Seems like they used to call that Faded blue jean (blue) .....
This one's pretty too.

Shane,
Roscoe finger boards are sealed really good and I suspect that you are like me in that you wash your hands prior to playing and wipe down your instrument after playing. I don't think staining the finger board would be an issue.

And I am hoping that you keep this one for a while. At least long enough to realize that your playing the best bass money can buy!;)

I should never pay attention to this thread.
I should have never read about the “bodies available for a quick build”.
I should have never sent emails to Keith Roscoe.
I should have never looked at the inventory pics he sent.
I should have never worked up the specifications for two basses.
Most importantly, I should have never read the amazing price quote he gave and the 3-4 week build time.

What have I done?

I hate this place and all of you “Roscoe people”.

Wait...I am one of you “Roscoe people”.

And...I love this place.

Never mind.
