Roscoe Club

3-4 week build time!?!?
I thought mine was fast (6 weeks) back in the day. The new equipment must speed things up. Now if the price would drop a little...

To be fair, he told me 4-6 weeks, and we're on week 7. I'm totally okay with that.

But I am like a kid on Christmas morning waiting for his parents to wake up so he can go see what Santa left him at this point!

Well, what are you going to get?

Mark

What am I going to get? I'm going to get referred to as "the defendant" by my wife. That's what I'm going to get.

I don't know how I'm going to pull off two new Roscoes after the parade of basses I've had flow through my house the last couple years but I'm going to figure it out somehow.

Savor the moment! ...... for you never know, this new build may be your last.............."We may never pass this way again".

I’ll play too. Going to try and get her in this week and get some wiring straightened out and replace the “superman jack” so I can use angled cords.

How'd that work out?
I started trying to replace the jack in mine and gave up because it was clear that I'd destroy the Electro-socket if I kept I kept trying (couldn't stop it from turning without squeezing it so hard that it would distort the edges).
I did find some nice Kirlin instrument cables on sale at MF for 1/2 price (lifetime warranty) and the distance between the connector housing and the end of the 1/4" shaft gave plenty of clearance for them to work with the Electro-socket. They arrived a couple weeks ago and work great. Great cables too.

P.S. The 20 FT cables were on sale for $10.99

It’s still at the shop- I dropped it off with another bass, and he said it’d be a bit before they’re done. Hopefully this week... I got a whole new electrosocket and jack, so it’ll be an easy swap.

I'm thinking about upgrading to 1 of a couple slabs of Exibition Quilted Maple for my build Keith has devilishly showed me lol. What does the Roscoe Brethren think of these and what is the better looking top? He will book match them.

That #4 has got some serious details going all over the place. That could turn into one epic top!

No. 5 already looks quite amazing (they both do, actually) already. Once finished, I think it would be beyond spectacular!

Whichever you choose, I cannot wait to see the finished product!

Both look great. Don't see a real downside to either one.

One suggestion though...... Ask Keith to save the cut-offs for you. If you decide to get custom knobs made down the road the cut-offs will make perfectly matching caps (or whole knobs). Maybe a matching truss rod adjustment cover. Maybe matching tuner key knobs.

Just a thought.
