Roscoe Club

A couple of pages back you'll find a photo of the solid purpleheart neck that Keith recently crafted, as posted on Facebook. Unbeknownst to me at the time, the neck for my bass to be, was nestled just to its left, center stage.

That will work just fine. Heck, 90% of your bass is built, shouldn't take too much longer.

Sweet. It's going to be an awesome bass. I played my Roscoe at church today and just love it.

So remember some earlier comments about elements of mystery and surprise related to wood figure changing appearance in process of carving and shaping? Here is what shaping and body sealing have revealed.

Wow! I am very pleased. . and grateful. .

Awesome quilt!
That's just going to be a killer bass!

Not sure if any of them are my taste. Possibly 1 I might be interested in.

The one second from the top is really cool looking. Is the one just below it some kind of figured mahogany? Is that a side view of it below that? Cool looking transition with the shim. Probably one that would really appreciate up close (but not far away). The bottom one looks really nice too.
Did I end up liking them all?
LOL I actually didn't mean to. It's just the more I looked the more I liked ......:)

That is a Figured Lacewood. He said he wants to lightly shade the edges of that one.

My wife said she liked that one best. So it's probably my favorite now lol.

LOL
If she's still interested in helping pick tops then you haven't totally wore a bluster. Towards the end of my boutique binge, my wife would just say: "they all look good but what difference does it make? You won't keep any of them long enough for it to matter". :)

Ohhhhhh!
That would look awesome with a BEM finger board! ... and a wenge wedge neck!;)

That one actually is the only one that already has the fingerboard and neck ready and it is a BEM. I've asked for picture for it as I'm not normally a Maple fretboard type person as I like darker woods. I just like how they don't show stains as easily after years of use. Who am I kidding...I don't keep one long enough to worry about that lol.

Shane,
Roscoe finger boards are sealed really good and I suspect that you are like me in that you wash your hands prior to playing and wipe down your instrument after playing. I don't think staining the finger board would be an issue.

And I am hoping that you keep this one for a while. At least long enough to realize that your playing the best bass money can buy!;)
