I learned something today. Black Limba = KorinaLooks like a really nice piece of black limba (aka korina) for the body too!
All the wenge...
My understanding too is that it is difficult to work with and even dangerous (splinters can cause sepsis and dust is an irritant). But it does sound good...
Did someone say "post a pic of the back of a Roscoe wedge wenge Sig neck"?
Hummm..... maybe not but .....

No longer available - Roscoe Century Signature V
I wonder what Black limbs sounds like tonally and what it compares to. It is a beautiful wood for bodies.
yeah, it was awhile ago- he had it down to $2200....I can’t believe I didn’t see that bass for sale. Very good price on a Signature.

Man, I've seen you post a lot about a LOT of different new basses. I always hold back from ribbing you because I did the same for too many years. We all have our reasons. I now have some beautiful basses, and I'm very happy to say that I spend far more time practicing music than worrying about what I play. I wondered for a long time if I could even make the switch in my head. Have fun, brother. It really is a lot of fun.....but in the end you've had many multiple UNREAL basses that most people dream about. Play the s#@t out of what you have. It becomes even more special when you create a bond with an instrument over a period of time. That's something truly special. I say this with kindness because I see myself in your posts.Having serious thoughts about not selling this Roscoe especially after seeing the matching knobs Devin Made for it. Bass is seriously one of the best sounding basses I’ve had in my hands. D-Cline is the best at making knobs.

So I am getting really tired of lugging around the SWR brick I have (and it's getting tired and it getting to the point where it needs some $$) and associated Eden cabs. I'm thinking about the class D jump-
Thinking about jumping to the Aguilar Tonehammer, or even the Epifani Piccolo- anyone have any experience in how well they reproduce the growl and low end of Roscoe basses?
I was going to go with GK, as I enjoy my Plex- but I got my hands on a couple of GK cabs to try out and they seemed... thinnish and they needed a ton of high mids cut and a bit bass boost. Maybe good if I've playing with a pick and playing distorted a lot, but alas- that's just not my style.
That makes sense to me. I’ve mainly associated korina with Gibson models like Explorers, Flying Vs, etc.Actually, white limba is more commonly known as Korina. Or at least Korina as guitarists know it.
