Roscoe Club

Anyone here considering selling/trading their Roscoe 6 for a Roscoe 5er? I may have something coming up where I could use a 6.
Not a trade, but you could probably sell one of your 5ers for $2k to get this, since you do have a love of “wood colored” basses :D Guy said it was “about 9.6lbs” when I’d asked earlier.

That clip sounds amazing. Every time I hear a Roscoe fretless I wish I had one of mine back. I can’t believe I didn’t keep one of them - even if I don’t play fretless much. My wife said if I ever get the chance to buy one back that I could never ever sell it. Same condition I have for my current fretted Roscoe. Can’t (not that I ever would) sell it.
I believe mine had multiple owners before it got to me. I don't know why they sold it but I'm glad they did.

Love the pic! Beautiful collection.

I've still yet to check out a Roscoe Classic. As much as I'm loving the "return to basic basses" journey these days I really should check one out. Maybe I can work out a rendezvous with Freddy-G to check one out.

How about it Gary?

Thank you! The classics are nice mine was from his first batch made from poplar which is a little heavy but it plays really nice and I really like the aguilar pickups and Aguilar OBP1. I still play the two SKB 5’s more and prefer them

Not Roscoe related (except for the Roscoe P bass at Rocket) but we are in St. Paul for John Mayer tonight and ran into this guy...

Really nice guy. Down to earth and humble.

Now that's a picture worth framing Steve!

He might even be able to convince you to get a P-Bass!:)

Thanks to @armybass, I'll have this J/MM Roscoe headed my way mañana! Though not the typical Bart soapbar setup I've had before, I'll be giving some things I haven't had luck with in the past - Bart/Bart and Spanish Cedar - another whirl. And...19mm spacing, which I'm on the fence about since I've grown to like the typical 18mm Roscoe spacing after becoming accustomed to the 17.5 EBMM five-string spacing. The 19mm spacing is fine on my Lakland, so I'm sure that'll be just fine and I can always adjust it in a bit.

I'm wondering if anyone knows, are the J/MM Bart pickups custom wound for Roscoe like the soapbars or are they typical Barts?

It’s truly an awesome bass. I swore I’d never get rid of it but my fickle ass can’t keep anything.

LOL...me, too! I parted ways with two basses today that I thought I'd keep for at least years. Good thing is it'll get here in plenty of time for me to get it set up, play around a bit, then throw it into the ol' gig gauntlet. Looking forward to it! :bassist:

I did not. I didn’t want to get to “shoppy” with him. I don’t think I even said I play bass. My wife said he probably guessed that as we picked him out in “plain clothes” at a little breakfast shop.

Steve, that is just so cool! Hard to believe that in a city that large you just happen to walk into the shop where he was eating!
What more of a sign do you need?
Call Greg and get that Pino Roscoe on it's way to your house! :bassist::bassist::bassist:

I believe that they are COTS Barts. I purchased that bass from the guy that custom ordered it from Atlanta Bass Gallery. Easily one of the best playing Roscoe's that I've ever owned.
Congrats!

Joe, is that the one that you brought to the GTG at Atlanta Bass Gallery a few years ago? Either way, I distinctly remember that one. It sounded great!
