Roscoe Club

I just got back from a double header soccer game (GKids) followed by blow up carnival rides (last games of the season).
It was so hot! No shade anywhere!!!:help:

Hot is right!! I’m working on my last retaining wall. I didn’t get it done with the others because of a wife’s ‘I want a screened gazebo!’. But I’m only working from 8:30 - 11:30 AM and from 6:00 - 8:30 PM.
Hopefully, we will get some rain this weekend. Only 1 rainy day this month, and record breaking temps!!

Thank you! Spank me, please.:cool::roflmao:

It's 57, rainy, and windy in chicagoland. We were just planning our holiday trip to GA, actually!
Alright, guys. I took my ugly post down. Thanks for covering for me. I guess I was trying to make a point. Keith and the boys are making the best basses ever.

I’m in the planning stage for a trip to Chicago near the Midway Airport area! I need some early fall weather!! But I’m reminded of the time when I was stationed at Chanute AFB, Rantoul, IL and came face to face with the ALL MIGHTY WIND!! It is truly a force to recon with and the winters are brutal!!

Thanks for sharing, Ray. I can tell that was a special time in your life. Thank you for your service.

I agree. Straight pickups for the win. Looks like a great bass.
My friend at work tried to talk me into something like a symbol or my initials or somthing like that. I decided straight pickups was enough to put my touch in there. Thanks for catching that. Nothing gets by Joe!

Joe, let me tell you, brother. You're gonna love this bass. Remember the 6 string mahogany body Roscoe that you passed on to me? It's just as good!!!!!!!!!

I’ve been in Grand Forks for 30 years!

Well, I was stationed there and heard that you’ll get used to the place, but I prefer getting used to being away from there!! With your engine block heaters and portable heater aimed directed at the battery to hopefully keep your engine oil and battery warm enough so that the car ‘might’ start if you can get close enough to an electrical outlet that works, and the whiteouts, and snow drifts as high as your roof, and your skin sticking to frozen metal objects because you forgot that will happen!!!! There is no place like home, right?

Auto Start. I always get into a warm vehicle. But yeah, it can get cold. It isn’t too bad except for those 2 weeks (usually January) where it REALY sucks.

It's kind of like those two weeks in the south in August.

And to be honest- I prefer the cold. You can always add another layer of clothes, and you don't worry about sweat and sticking to yourself and humidity... It's less painful to run when it's 15 degrees outside than when it's 90...

It's been so hot here but yet somehow I ended up catching a bit of sinus (or cold) issues. A couple of the G-Kids have a more severe version of what I have so I'm sure that they shared it with me.:)
At any rate, I laid out of church today but decided to use the down time to work on the Dead & Company's version of "Feel Like A Stranger". I've never covered a Greatful Dead tune in a group so it's kind of fun. We're actually doing the singer/guitarists (that I'm playing with) version of the tune but the Dead & Friends version (with Oteil grinding out the lowend) has tons of great licks that I can steal!!:bassist:

Auto Start is maybe good now!! The only Auto Start we had in the mid 70's was you getting dressed in all those layers of clothing that @Skip Chucker likes :) and getting out there in it to start your car, and hope it isn't covered under in a snow drift, and that you can get out of the house!!
While in the barracks, ropes were tied from the barracks to the chow hall so that we could find our way there and back during those whiteouts!! You get stuck in one of those and it's a very dangerous situation!!

I did duck hunt when I was up there and had the experience of seeing a HUGE flock of snow geese take off from the reservoir we were hunting near!!! A breath taking site!!!

Okay, so enough about Grand Forks!!! What about those Roscoe basses!!

I need a new instrument cable. This one looks good. But I'm looking for a high-end cable. What's the best?

I just want your opinion, in case you came across one that really made a difference.
I love the Mogami Gold ones. They last forever and sound great . I also use the Mogami Gold Speakons for my Cabs

There are few unique and one-of-a-kind things in the world. Especially in the electric bass guitar world. Let’s admit it. There is the Fender Precision. There is the Fender Jazz. And there is the Roscoe. And I’m talking about the original Bartolini equipped Roscoe. It’s a one of a kind. Everything else is a copy of these 3 originals.

OK. I'll give a nod to the hippie bass. Alembic.
