That’s way too many ‘too’s, too!

What's up with you too?:D

Speaking of technique.:)
I suppose that I waited a long, long time but I suddenly discovered palm muting while playing with your thumb and index finger. I've done it forever with a pick but never really worked it out with my thumb and index finger. I've been working on it for a several days now and it really sounds cool!

It's a cool technique I've tried. Put the thumb on the strings while playing. Thumb muting.

I started doing that almost exclusively when I played in a motown/new R&B-style group. Killer vibe when done right. I love that technique in the right song!

Yeah. I does totally changes the vibe of the tune. I had seen a few players doing it lately and was quite intrigued by it. I was surprised how easily I adapted to the style. Probably because I've always played chordal and double stop styles in that manner (using my thumb and index finger; but not using the palm of my hand to mute).

I emailed Roscoe website the other day with some questions, so while I’m waiting on the response. I’ve been looking at an SKB 5 and a century 5. Both with Aggies. The century is like 50% more money, so the SKB sounds like a better deal. I hear postings saying that the Century is much better ergonomics, I don’t long arms or big hands so I worry about the stretch to the nut. How big of a deal breaker is this? I’d love to save the money but it will be wasted if the bass isn’t going to work for me.

I own both a Century and SKB and perhaps I should pay more attention but I have no problems playing either one; whatever difference is inconsequential, in my experience/opinion. Sounds like the SKB is the way to go....

Sadly, I think you may want to attempt to try them first- while I like the looks of the SKB, the Century balances much better on me. But others in this group swear by LG's and SKB's... ymmv...

They all play the same to me (standing with a strap).
They might play a bit different in a sitting position but I’ve never really noticed. It certainly never affected my ability to play or caused any pain.
And for the record I’ve owned many of all the various body styles.

Of course if you’re real sensitive and watch a lot of chick flicks you might want to try a Century body style.:roflmao:
