I’m late to the party but...

If the pictures from The Bass Shop are the bass then I have to disagree, it is definitely Ash. Spanish Cedar has limited grain. Roscoe got into some lighter swamp ash some years back, its ash.

Yeah. I was going by the original 2 pics that Laklandfan originally posted which just showed the edges of the body. It had same burgundy tint that Keith used on SC bodies back in the early 2000’s.

It looks like tinted ash in Fred’s link.

Nope, I made the move on this one and it is officially mine. My first Roscoe and first 5'er. I like the neck a noticeably better than the SKB. Not sure why, though. I'm already thinking of my next Roscoe, because it's only reasonable to have a back-up.

Awesome! There are subtle differences in the neck profiles (bass to bass) because the final shaping is done by hand. But the differences wouldn’t be due to the bass being a SKB, LG or Century model. It would simply be Bass to bass.
Congrats! That’s a pretty one too!

What do you think about Wenge knobs with Koa caps? The fingerboard is wenge so that would tie the fingerboard and knobs together.

I placed on order with Roger at THG knobs. I'm going with Wenge knobs with thin layer of maple and then flamed Koa tops. The Koa tops will have dimple position indicators.

I think these should blend well with the bass and not detract or become a focal point.

Merry Christmas Roscoe Heads !

Killing some Christmas morning time prior to the kids and G-Kids arriving and I see this wonderful warm picture of a Christmas tree and 3 (wise-man) Roscoe's!
Now that's what I want under my tree!:) .....

(Not to mention the Roscoe Classic and a couple Fender style basses in the background).

Found this SKB 5er on the rack at guitar center. It was out of tune so wasn’t able to tune it and plug it in. No strap but if it’s 35” it’s not terrible stretch can’t predict how it balances. Neck profile is nice and comfy, don’t know nut width or string spacing but was wider than I expected. This thing is crazy light. Feels lighter than my 4 string p bass. Bartolini soap bars, not sure if they are CB or Roscoe barts. Not sure of the top (spalt maple?) or body material, the back is very dark wood with buckle rash by the batter compartment. It’s not on their website but if anyone is looking for an SKB like this. View attachment 3639409 View attachment 3639406

which guitar center?
