Roscoe Club

I didn't realize that they made several different models of concentric pots (as well as Blend) with a DPDT P/P SW built in. It looks like they require a different set of stacked knobs than I have on my Roscoe (and purchased for this job).
I may just go with the passive tone add and call it a day. The Roscoe Barts are fairly low output passive anyway.

My LG3005 is wired like that (stacked volume/passive tone, pup balance, mid push-pull, stacked bass/treble).

IMO - specially considering this bass sports an ash/quilted maple body and BEM fb - it's a great addition to an already great preamp-pup combo.

On another topic,
regarding Chromes in Roscoe fivers (I guess this one goes to @Joe BassPlayer ):
is there any nut filing needed to accommodate the .132 B that comes standard in the Chromes 5-string set?

I've landed a jet on an aircraft carrier that wasn't as wide as that neck!
The 7's can be challenging...
My biggest issue (other than reaching the first 3 frets on the B...) is that the neck won't fit in my Hercules stage stands - and I got the wide ones... The 6 fits just fine, but the 7 is just a little bit too big... So at home it gets relegated to the rack, and on the rare occasions I take it out, it has to live in its case when not in active use.

You’ve got a concentric (stacked) 250k pot with a DPDT SW? If so, how deep is it?
I’ve got the black knob set.
I have a pair of Noll 250K Vol/Tone stacked pots with Linear/Audio tapers and push/pull DPDT. It only extends 1.0” below the mounting surface which is pretty compact. I had to back order them from Best Bass Gear but ended up going a different direction on my project. PM me if interested.

The TI Jazz Flat B is 0.136" and fit my 3006 nut just fine...

Chromes installed on my Roscoe LG 5’er with no nut or truss rod adjustments. Plays great!

Agree.
No filing of the nut slots required on my Roscoe SKB-3005 (for the Chromes or TI Jazz Flats).
You should be fine.

Who else is gigging tonight and into the New Year?
Wow, 2020! Had I seen this coming I would have taken a few more risks and lived life closer to the edge!!

Just finished my gig for the day (actually rehearsal) ...... Nothing tonight except Carrabba's Italian Grill tonight with my wife and some friends. Yum, yum!!!

Keith sent me pic of Buckeye being plek’d today saying it was finished after the frets are polished. Anxious to see how much difference the vintage tone control adds to the tonal variations. View attachment 3650247

Very nice!
Yeah me too (on the Vintage tone control comment). I gigged with the Fender Elite (with the Nord pre with a passive tone) and it worked great! Very nice variations in the active and passive mode. It really takes the edge (harshness) away in the active mode. Actually gives a hotter sounding vintage tone (verses the passive mode).

I've got the 250K concentric pot w/DPDT P/P switch (and knobs) coming from 5Stringpocket so I'll find out how it sounds with a Bart soon. Keith may be putting just the VTC in between the Blend control and preamp (and leaving your master volume after the pre). I suspect that would be the preferred manner but I've gotten several knowledgeable techs advice on changing the pot value to 250K and putting both between the Blend control and preamp and they both say it'll work fine.
We'll see! :)

Shane.
Just noticed that your bass didn't have the 12th fret inlay. Is that by design (because of the cool spalted finger board)?

A little too much YUM YUM at Carrabba's Italian Grill last night?

LOL
I actually only ate 1/2 my food last night (too much of that toasted bread with Olive oil and herbs).
Oh but it was sooooo good! I'll finish it off today at lunch. And of course fire up the Green Egg for dinner with the girls, son in-laws and G-Kids! And college football all day long too! :)

OH YEA!!! The toasted bread with Olive Oil & herbs!!

I used to own one the earlier mid 80's ceramic Green Eggs! Delicious food from those, for sure!!! Weighed a ton!!! Mine weathered away. :( I think I still have the three little ceramic feet and the cap, that if you forgot to remove before opening the dome would come a tumbling down! :nailbiting:

I now just have the knockoff Akorn that I bought from Wal-Mart. It works great, but it's not a Green Egg!!!!

We'll need to have an impromptu GTG at your place to jam around that hot Green Egg!!! :D
