Roscoe Club

I just got back from a little vacation in Colorado. I have been emailing back and forth with Keith since before Christmas, refining the spec sheet and choosing a top. There's definitely nothing else like ordering a custom instrument!

Speaking of Koa, did everyone see the outrageous master grade top they posted on their media accounts recently? Unreal.

Koa just makes a pretty bass...

All this talk of Koa reminds me that I really should sell my Century Signature 5 JJ, better known as "King Koa" in these parts.

I keep thinking my dalliance with 4-strings will come to an end, but I'm 4-5 years in at this point with no sign of growing out of it. My 5-strings are all sitting collecting dust at this point. LOL

I'll make some pics available if anyone is interested.

Just to wet everyone's appetite ....... The one on the RIGHT! It's also a "Signature".

I'm sure Greg will post some much better pics. This one is from our 2013 GTG.

Well I’m interested!
That bass has been quite a test-bed over the years.

Just post some pics. We all want to see it again.
I played a 4 string for a while the other day. It was fun. Some things I liked. I could maybe make "the switch" and live with it, but my 5's feel and sound so good...and I've spent so much on them...and I like the full scale thumb rest.

Same here. I feel lost on a 4 string after playing a 5 string for 20+ years, and I love the sound of my Roscoe 5’s.

The first Roscoe I got to play was a 5 string back in 2001 and I was very impressed. The first Roscoe I owned was an SKB 3007 back around 2002-2003. I sold it before my move to NYC and stuck with 6 strings and below after that.

Any players previously had or currently have instrument/gear insurance coverage?

Yes, I've used www.musicproinsurance.com for years now. Fortunately, I've never had to make a claim, but so far I love the ease of making both policy changes and payments online. Covers loss, damage, and/or theft with a $100 deductible for each incident.

I did get a quote from Clarion today for $350+ yearly w/$250 deductible and waiting to here back from two others.
In the 40 years of playing for money, I've not had coverage and only had one issue and that was last year with a Demeter amp taking a dive off of a cabinet. I had to send it to James to get it fixed.
I have a lot more expensive gear now and I'm having concerns about it not being covered.
