Roscoe Club

I’m thinking maybe he didn’t put one in this Buckeye bass. I figured that was a standard feature in Roscoe basses so I didn’t mention it during our spec conversation. Looking at the quote it doesn’t specifically say anything about 12th fret inlay. Here’s another neck before the frets are out on and it clearly has the inlay already on.

Ummmm .....

I'd definitely give Keith a call tomorrow and mention it. It's a standard feature. Not sure why it would have been left off but it shouldn't be a problem. He may have to remove the bordering frets (to install it) but that's not an issue.

Is the buckeye bass a Standard Plus? Because if it is, the 12th fret inlay isn't an option.

I just got back from a little vacation in Colorado. I have been emailing back and forth with Keith since before Christmas, refining the spec sheet and choosing a top. There's definitely nothing else like ordering a custom instrument!

Speaking of Koa, did everyone see the outrageous master grade top they posted on their media accounts recently? Unreal.

I love Koa. My fretted Century Standard Plus has a beautiful Koa top. It's not like that one of course as its just a laminate but I still like it. I get plenty of compliments on my "standard plus" basses on sound, looks and playability.

I am no longer in a position to order new or custom basses, but I still hang around and drool. My other is a Standard Plus with a beautiful quilt maple top.

The Signature and Custom basses are beautiful for sure, and I've had a couple, but I really like these "lesser" basses a lot and have no problem showing them off.

I doubt anyone but us Roscoe types would even know those aren't customs. Certainly a beautiful pair.
